Philosophy | The Amazing MC (or why she hasn't had sex with you yet)

One thing everybody has in common is chasing after something. I'm not just talking about relationships. I'm talking about everything. Whether that's your career or a bag of money or your education or friends. We all want different things in our lives and the things we want most are usually the things we push hardest for. These things can vary in degrees. Some people want to be a doctor and spend years studying. Some people just want to have a good burger and plop down for the night. We all have big and small pursuits that take years or even a few hours to accomplish. We all want something. Some of us do more than others but the want is always there.

I think that's true for everybody. It doesn't matter where you're from. It doesn't matter what your life is like. It doesn't matter what your circumstances are. We're all trying to get something important to us, big or small.

I've read that some people think the MC is a guy that everybody just walks over because he's doing everything they ask of him. I don't want to get into that the whole discussion again because that's another topic in itself and I think I've covered it before. To put it simply, I created the MC as a guy who's simply pursuing his wants. You can view those wants however you want. If you're just doing things to get laid, that's fine. But there's a broader scope of the story in which the MC is trying to achieve all of his goals beyond getting laid.

And the same goes for all of the other characters in the game. That includes the females themselves.

But let's put aside their personal goals for the moment and focus on the relationships, which are what you're all here for.

A lot of people view the MC as doing everything he can to get laid. That makes sense. That's what the game is about anyway. Sure, you're more than willing to have sex with these girls. They're pretty. You're fine with their personality. At this point, you might be fine with going all the way. You also might feel like you've done more than enough to win a girl's heart.

But how come we don't look at it from the other perspective? What have these girls done to deserve you? Are there looks the only thing that matter?

You're the MC. You're funny. You're smart. You're compassionate. You're a great dancer. You know how to fight. You make a great latte. You have everything a girl could want. Every girl has every reason to chase you. Why should you give these girls the satisfaction of your amazingness?

Maybe you're fine with looking up to these girls and playing the role of proving yourself worthy. Or maybe you think these girls have done enough to be with the MC. But I want to make the MC discerning to a certain extent because it's not just about his responsibility.

When we like or pursue someone, sometimes we forget about our own value and worth. We focus so much on doing everything we can to prove ourselves to the other person. The MC is doing that to a certain extent. But I wanted to emphasize the other side, too.

Throughout the story, you'll learn more about the ladies. Your relationship will develop and you'll grow closer. This is the process of not just proving yourself to her but her proving herself to you. If things work out in the end, it's not about you deserving her or her deserving you. It will be about both of you deserving each other. Because you might be chasing after someone. You're amazing though. It's only fair they chase after you, too.

Like I've said before, stuff always sounds better in my head than when I can explain it. This is just another way of letting you all know I'm considering every aspect of the story. I might not get there but I'm trying. Feel free to leave a comment if you've got an opinion or advice on why any of the girls are deserving of you.

On Episode 7

I've gotten through most of the renders for the main story and finished the final sequence. I still have some renders to do, which are all of the scenes with animations in them. I also might have to render a few straggler scenes in case I need them. That's the reason I can never say I'm truly finished with renders.

I hope that I'll get started on animations next week. Plans always change though, so you never know.

Animations are always tricky because I go a long time without doing them and it takes a bit for me to remember the process.

It's not as long as the last episode but there'll be plenty of content.
