Good news patrons, the channel now has a small sponsor to help it continue to grow! Here's the scoop:
As you may know I've been working with your fellow patron Sean Harrington in inventing an oft-requested "NTSC-PAL switch" board for the C64 (working title: VIC-II²). Not only will this be available to the community (not for profit, just covering costs) but its creation is going to form a fun video or two.
For this we'll be prototyping a number of PCBs. Above is a picture of a 3D print of the main board that slots into the VIC-II socket, that Sean whipped up when I met with him yesterday (along with a banana for scale because of course.)
In steps a company called PCBway, based in the global heart of the electronics industry; Shenzhen, China. I was really impressed with their customer service, and the appreciation seems to have gone both ways as they've just come on board as a sponsor! They'll also be helping us with all board prototyping for the channel.
This means I'll be giving them a brief mention in upcoming videos, but always in context and in good humour (I never want to the channel to become 'commercial', yuck). They seem to share my vision, so fingers crossed for the partnership, the VIC-II², and the sales of bananas everywhere.
Thank you for your support and loyalty. It means more than the above scale can ever measure. 🍌
