These lockdown episodes are a way of thanking our Patreon backers for sticking with us through these difficult times. We are releasing them on the off-weeks between our normal episodes.

2020-08-01 17:37:58 +0000 UTCScott- I’m assuming you know James Ellroy’s Black Dahlia- I thought of it in a couple of contexts during the talk on Don’t f**k with Cats (I’m totally conflicted re watching this now- I’m fascinated by what you were saying but am also a great friend all of cats). Anyway- Black Dahlia- firstly it has a middle section is almost exclusively covering wrong leads and fake confessions in a murder case. Secondly it is unusual in that its narrative does, to some degree, concern the victim over the perpetrator (something that makes sense in the context of the books creation) and, well, if youby any chance don’t know it, it’s a great read.

I have just returned from six years of living on the Belgian/Luxembourg/French border, deep in the Ardennes and I can fully verify that it's practically a documentary. See also the film La Calvaire (of which I'm sure you're aware) as another example of Belgian/Luxembourg cooperation opening the lid on the same area. Thanks for all you do, especially right now.
