2022-12-20 21:26:37 +0000 UTCFrom 0:37 to ~1:13, the purpose of this light is to give a general direction to the light, as a guide, it determines the main shapes, and it helps to visualize the general aspect of the elements to come. At 2:22 I apply what I call "The layers of cakes", it is a question of adding and stacking the lights, from darkest to brightest, and from dullest to most saturated, in order to keep a check on the overall saturation of the image for as long as possible. The goal is always to stack layers, clean them up, and keep control over the image.

2022-12-20 08:03:35 +0000 UTCAs an amateur trying to study your style, these are super valuable, thanks a lot! from ~0:37 to ~1:13, what is the use from the highlight layer? You seem to paint the detailed highlight over it, later at 2:22. My guess is that it's for having more color and shades in the color tuning you're making at 6:23, but hey, why not asking !
