Best Friend Problems Chapter 1-1

“Can this day be any more boring?”

Rachel Meadows, not known for being all that spontaneous, was rather surprised at her own comment. The Turquoise haired high school senior was known for enjoying mundane, and uneventful days at school, mostly due to the shenanigans of a certain someone justifying that need for normalcy…

“Huh, odd to hear miss ‘no surprises’ complaining about a boring day,” commented Rachel’s study partner and friend Vivian Gloomsdale. The pale, raven haired girl flicked a loose bang from in front of her face as the two walked down the hallway towards the cafeteria of their esteemed academy. Their crisp and neat school uniforms signifying them as students of Estella Academy. 

“Well, I like a little surprise in my life,” Rachel responded feigning a bit of exaggerated indignant tone.   “Just REASONABLE surprises, not the kind you-know-who likes to pull.” Rachel titled her head as Vivian seemed to be eying something behind her.

“You mean like Lacey pulling up the back of your skirt to show off your butt to the whole hallway?”

“Well that’s one specific scenario sure but…” as Rachel trailed off she was hit by the sudden realization in Vivian’s words, the feeling of fabric lifting unusually higher than usual behind her, and a familiar, damnable giggle to go along with it.

“Oooh, wearing pink and blue hearts today huh? Very cute!” 

Vivian’s head spun around at the teasing voice to find the wavy purple haired troublemaker Lacey Patterson crouched down behind her pulling up the back of her skirt, showing her pink heart print panties for all to see!

“LACEY!” Rachel cried, spinning around and putting her hands behind her butt protectively, blushing profusely. “I told you to stop doing that!” The angered blue haired girl spun around, thankfully seeing nobody else but the three of them in the hallway at the moment. 

“Tee hee! I just can’t help myself,” Lacey said with an innocent look on her face. “You wear such colorful and vibrant panties, I just have to see them!” 

“That is not justification damn it!” Rachel’s cheeks reddened even more. Outside looking in you’d think this was the typical story of a bully picking on the main protagonist or a rival character, but it’s a lot more complicated for Rachel…Given that the purple haired minx currently giggling at her embarrassment was her BEST FRIEND. 

“As cute as you two’s comedy routine is, mind if we take this to the café?” Vivian cut in, mildly blushing herself at what she just saw. “I’d like to get some food before next period.”

“Kk,” Lacey beamed as she grabbed Rachel’s hand and pulled her towards the cafeteria. “Come on Rachel, I’ll make it up to you with an extra pudding pack!” she winked.

Rachel smiled a bit, but still blushing. Having such a bubbly and troublesome girl like Lacey as a best friend was a lot of work, but she had her sweet moments, figuratively and currently literally.
