why assume it's at your expense? are you imagining reparations money would otherwise have been spent on you? or do you feel you are somehow in competition with anyone who might receive reparations, such that anything they're given which you aren't is a detriment to you?

lmao the racial IQ guy thinks identity politics are bad

I feel like the first time I heard sjw language was from friends of mine that were trans and commies, it just all gets rolled up in the big wheel of exploitation.

I mean no, i think the more likely scenario is the woke movement got coopted by nefarious institutions and bad actors(which is what happened to the word progressive, the me too movement and democratic socialism.) and like, while capitalism is the main driver of oppression to act like anti-racism is a distraction seems way off mark. Like capitalism may have created white supremacy but you can't combat it without combating white supremacy. That kind of what intersectionality was before the class got omitted and the libs took it over.

a person who likes to rub up against people is a "frotteur"

ok i do gotta say. i went to high school in east tennessee (ooltewah) and was assigned howard zinn by my ap us history teacher (2008) and learned about systemic racism in an elective sociology class (2007). and i have friends that are public school teachers in rural and urban areas working critical race theory into their lesson plans. i think it’s important to acknowledge that there are individual teachers who are introducing these ideas to their students, and they are being targeted and punished and pushed out of public education because teaching poor students about these topics is effective, and therefore dangerous. i was absolutely radicalized by that zinn book at 16.

The conservative obsession with "critical race theory" reminds me of how Saul Alinsky and "Rules for Radicals" became the focal point of conservative obsessions in 2009. e.g. as an explanation for understanding the Democratic Party and its "radical" leadership. This stuff is just absolutely bonkers. Honestly, I didn't even know about Alinsky until conservative media started hyping this stuff up. On the other hand, the selection of bogeyman is also kind of revealing, because at a fundamental level a lot of these cons are just bullies and cowards. They are picking a fight against groups and "ideas" that are marginal, without power, and then inflating the threat. It's a lot easier than actually dealing with real issues and real sources of power.

Progg. Every time Arrighi is mentioned on this podcast I get a little jolt- nice to see those ideas here next to plans for a little cabin in the woods.

I'm just surprised we didn't get any mention of identifying as an attack helicopter.
