June Update & Devlog #2 teaser

Hey all, happy pride! May was a quiet month for the Blood Crisis socials, but that's because I've been spending a lot of time reconsidering my goals and approach to development. Strap in, because I've got some big news.

I've said a few times that when I first started developing this project, I never had any idea how much attention the first devlog would bring to it, or how much support I'd end up getting so quickly. 

I say this not only because I'm grateful -- but because it's been genuinely a bit overwhelming. 

Starting development on this project last year, I didn't really have a specific time frame or really long term plan for Blood Crisis. I've always wanted to make this game, and so I decided to say "screw it" and just start working on it in my spare time. And that's all it was before devlog #1, just a hobby really. 

But, just because I was okay with potentially working on this project for 10-15 years doesn't mean that's what I should *AIM* for, right? I don't want to wait that long to play the game, and I'm sure none of you do either.

So, after a lot of consideration, I'm deciding to cut the development of this game into chunks, by putting Velle's campaign on the backburner and just focusing on Alpha Knight's story and moveset.

Ironically enough, I talked a lot of trash in Devlog #1 about people letting scope creep get to them, and then proceeded to do immediately that like 5 minutes later into the video. 

I am not abandoning Velle's character or them as a playable character. Blood Crisis is Alpha *AND* Velle's story, but for now I just want to actually get something available for y'all to play, and only developing one protagonist does effectively cut my workload in half.

That being said, since making this decision, I've been steadily chipping away at creating a completely new animation set for Alpha Knight using the improved rig I created a couple months ago, as well as creating some time-saving guidelines for animations as to prevent myself from getting hung up on small stuff.

Devlog #2 is coming along steadily as well. I wanted to have it out before the end of the month but I'm putting a lot more effort into this one and don't want to rush kino. I've attached a short clip from the beginning of the video for anyone interested in a sneak peek :)

Today is also a Thursday, meaning it's stream time babey!! I'll be going live at 7pm EST as I do every week animating more attacks for Alpha Knight. See you then!
