So it seems that a few of you have found the Patreon page a little early!
Really exciting stuff!
So I thought it might be nice to jump in here and share some of the behind the scenes of the last few months with you guys, and let you know some of the things that I am hoping to do with this Patreon page!
So let's start with the last couple of months...
As you probably already know, my little brother, Alexander was here with me for a total of Five weeks!! We really made the best of the time and found ourselves doing more livestreams than I have ever done before! It was a blast!
But then it stopped...
Why did it stop?
Well, a large part of that was that as soon as Alexander left, I had to get deep into editing mode and pick up on a few outside projects that had taken the back-burner.
As a creator, I am currently working on YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, and hanging out on Twitter. In addition to this, I am still doing near-weekly projects related to shamisen. Some of it will find itself onto the Shamisen in Tokyo youtube channel, and some of it unfortunately wont.
But in addition to this, almost immediately after leaving my full time job, there was a small wave of request for other types of shoots. Both corporate and private shoots, from events to promo videos, have been taking up quite a bit of time! (and I have been having a blast with all of it by the way!)
But one more thing I haven't covered on Tokyo lens so far, is that almost right after Alexander leaving... my parents arrived from Canada for a 3 week visit! The day after they arrived, I had a job that took me to Italy for a week, and came back to having 2 weeks left with them in Tokyo. It felt like a good time to put the camera away and get in some family time.
We did shoot a few things together and these vids will find their way on to Tokyo Lens in due time!
And now that they are gone... it's time to play catch up with work again!
But on the plus side, a lot of this month's work includes exciting projects and collaborations that I am sure you will enjoy!
I think this is my first full and official post to the patrons that have joined here, so I want to make sure that I close out by talking a bit about what I want to do with Patreon itself!
So Patreon... You may have noticed that its October of 2018 and I have still yet to launch this page officially or make any announcement of it.
One of the largest reasons behind this, is because I want to be able to use this page to provide value to everyone who takes the time and supports through here.
I want to be able to give something that makes this Patreon page truly unique and a place that we can actually enjoy together.
I have a few exciting plans in my back pocket for this, but for now, I appreciate how amazingly patient all of you are being!
A side note to this... The Patreon launch video for Tokyo Lens should be a LOT of fun (once its finally finished! It may require a bit of travel!)
And finally...
One last expression of gratitude.
It honestly blows my mind to think that we live in a day and age where we have the ability to support each other through a system like this. But what is even more amazing to me is that one human would go out of their way to show care and support to another at this level.
It really gives me faith in humanity and inspiration to keep moving forward. More accurately... You give me faith in humanity and inspiration to move forward.
So thank you for being who you are and know that your support truly means the world.
I am going to wrap this up here for now, but I hope that you have an amazing day and I will see you again... real soon!
