the idea for symbiote stuff in general? Nah, i think when they initially came up with it, it was some kind of allegory for addiction or something that's kind of morphed into an odd exploration of intimacy. There's even a venom comic that came out a couple years ago where it explores Eddies relationship with the symbiote as a romantic, loving one. So the narrative and outlook has changed a lot over time for sure. I think they know now to be honest, but back then nah, i think it would've been a surprise XD

2024-05-11 16:13:56 +0000 UTCI wonder if the authors and artists who came up with this concept and decided to publish it had ANY idea just what kind of deeply-embedded sexual responses this kind of thing would tap into and/or program into their readers? I've found the concept to be a huge turn-on from the first time I encoutered it, even when the actual characters were clearly intended to be dangerous and threatening instead of arousing.
