An Exclusive Patron-Only Shop… ?

As a patron, you help make everything we do possible, and we’re always thinking about how we can make your experience feel even more special.
We’re thinking about adding something new to the shop just for patrons. But we don’t want to guess what you might like. Since this is for you, we’d genuinely love to know:
What would be most exciting or interesting to you?
Whether it’s bringing back one of our limited edition pins (like Crashing Moon or Wheel of Fear), creating exclusive patron-only apparel, giving early access to the calendar or merch drops, or offering special discounts,... whatever we make, we make it for you.

☝️ This! 👏👏👏 Adapted videos in the form of short books aimed at young readers, maybe K–6 (in the US; primary-ish equivalent elsewhere?) or ages ~7–14ish, is such a *brilliant* idea!! 🤩 I even think they could easily be printed similarly to the notebooks/field note journals, not necessarily with lamination even, and definitely without needing super premium heavyweight paper. Personally, I know l devoured that kind of prolific, low-production cost book series in elementary and middle school. Frog & Toad; everything Beatrix Potter, Maurice Sendak, Richard Scarry, and Dr. Seuss; various Winnie the Pooh one-offs (post-Disney acquisition); Berenstein* Bears; Encyclopedia Brown detective stories; Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew reprints; Animorphs(!!!); and even Goosebumps, and Fear Street later on, were all basically monthly or quarterly, or at least had frequently published new entries. I agree though that these would be better suited for the general public storefront. It would be cruel to limit access to what is such an amazingly percipient product concept. And there's already over a decade of material just waiting to be adapted! You could probably get at least two or three 20+ page booklets out of each video, and at least one 40+ page book per. The illustrations and most graphical/script assets are already there! Thank you for putting this out there. I hope so much that the team move on this, at least at some point. 🫡🎩 I tip my hat to you, madam

Short books of some of the key concept videos "in a nutshell" with the Kurzgesagt signature beautiful illustration would be amazing. Or something a bit more useful/ meaningful than posters and pins, like games. These are probably sugestions for the main shop really, but I like the idea of having restocks of limited edition/sold out items for Patreon subscribers

2025-04-10 19:13:05 +0000 UTCIt matters to me less what the form-factor is, than that it's something I actually want. Pin? Shirt? Neither has me excited, yet. This is the tricky bit: Whatever it is, it has to be good enough I actually want the thing. And yet, you're making it for a limited audience. What's so generic that everyone in the set will want, and yet, it doesn't make sense to release it ? Because if it's so awesome that everyone wants it, why would you make it exclusive? Maybe a design that stealth-implies that the person wearing it is a backer of the channel. Like, a Pillar motif. We're pillars of the channel. One of the supports that holds up Kurzgesagt, amongst many. Duck on Pillar. Keep reworking until you get a version that the community fawns over. Having said that, I think I come around in the end to preferring a pin, so the thing can be a subtle nod to anyone else in the know, and I can stick it on whatever.
