One of the reasons why I immediately compare the two shows (besides the obvious cops aspect) is probably that the german show was labeled an action show, so it's very heavy on that aspect. Some of the stuff Countdown does car chases, chases in general etc. really reminds me of that.

2025-07-22 20:18:52 +0000 UTCYeah I gotta say this was the most boring episode so far to me. I also agree with the show not hitting the marks it's supposed to or thinks it is. And I say that as a person who has watched some cop shows in the past. For years I watched a german action cop show that I think has a vibe very close to what this show should feel like. I started watching that show when I was 12 and watched it on a regular basis until I was about 25 or something. A big factor for keeping up with that show always was the connection with the characters (especially since it was more of a case per episode kinda show). And I gotta say I don't really connect to the characters of Countdown yet. So I think that definitely is also a big part why it sometimes looses me a bit. That being said I think I preferred Jensen's character on Big Sky tbh.

2025-07-22 20:15:59 +0000 UTCThe gas prizes comparision will never not be funny to me. Did a little math and gas prizes here in germany currently fluctuate between 6.92 up to 7.77 US $ per gallon (1.56-1.75 €/liter), most often leaning more towards the higher price. XD
