Pretty sure that thing about really sleeping has been debunked as a fandom myth, unless they’ve mentioned it at a con

I enjoy Last Holiday, even if just so we get to see Dean happy for a short time

Yes, I love ELH. I haven’t done the rewatch yet and look forward to funny lines like
“He smoked the pages!”
“We’re renting here!”
“Everybody loves bacon!”
“These guys are psychopaths!”
“He was my gay thing.”
And Jared is so funny in Trial & Error. …Lactose intolerant 🤣

You mention that later we find out there are more MoL bunkers elsewhere in America, but Lebanon is the big one, the central place for all their lore and magic - and Sam and Dean basically squat in it. Yes they use the library's lore books and the torture dungeon and kitchen and the showers and the firing range (8.20) and the computer room (9.04) and the gym (14.01) but they don't find out it's full capacities (a magical housekeeper, monster radar and an interdimensional geoscope until 15.14. Unpopular opinion: I love Last Holiday, it's a last hurrah for the bunker, a critique of the MoL's brutality, and not filler at all.

also fun fact! that scene where Sam wakes Dean up from his sleep, Jensen had actually fallen asleep so that was Jensen’s reaction and genuine confusion, not Dean’s

to answer your question about why no one else has anti-possession tattoos, keep in mind before the Apocalypse, and the Special Children, demonic activity on Earth was fairly minimal. It really wasnt a common
occurance, and definitely not enough for the Men of Letters, who were rarely in the field anyways, to bother with, especially when they had holy water and exorcisms. Even up until the end of season 1, beginning of season 2, Bobby admits he only usually hears about 3-4 demonic possessions a year.
Of course, then Sam and Dean come along and All Hell Breaks Loose (full puns unapologetically intended)
Also, keep in mind with Abbaddon, the only way to kill her is with the First Blade, which we dont know about yet, so shes unkillable at the moment. The decision to try and cure her makes a lot more sense when you think of it as the boys thinking it was the only way to permanently take her off the playing board

I adore Trial and Error. Jared and Jensen's performance, kicking off the entire trial arc, is just phenomenal. I think it beautifully sets up why Dean wants to do the trials, but more importantly why Sam needs to do them, and to me it almost feels like a season premiere. It is just beautifully done set up and preparation for the story to unfold

I may be in the minority, but I absolutely love the next two episodes and am bummed we are missing your reactions. Everybody Hates Hitler is a riot and Trial and Error has some important foreshadowing. Look forward to hearing your input on the second go around.
