I love this episode, but during its original airing many shippers were not really fond of it, which I never understood. For some reason they hated Mulder writing "Dearest Dana" or Scully replying "Forever Yours", among other things. I think the episode has some flaws indeed, like Scully being way too naive after everything she's gone through, but overall it succeeds in many ways, and the revelation at the end (killing a "supersolder", actually an alien replicant) was awesome at the time. And no, it's not the same guy from Fight the Future. O'Quinn actually played three different characters, lol. The title of the episode refers to both the E-Mail Address as well as the general message to trust no one. Also, to know that aliens are literally in the NSA (we already knew they're in the FBI) and monitoring people in every possible way, is a frightening revelation. The beginning of the episode is one of my favorite intros ever. Scully's monologue with Tschaikowski in the background, and those shots with her and Mulder from previous episodes... literally goosebumps, just like Emily said. I'm glad you enjoyed the episode, the reaction and your analysis was great as usual. Thank you.

Yeah, they had Terry O' Quinn 3 times on The X Files, but 3 different characters. I like your thought, that he is the same guy from the movie (in fact a popular theory among fans), but I think that's not really how it is supposed to be. 😅 However, they reused actors sooo much, over the years. They always struggled to find new ones. I guess the move to Los Angeles helped them a bit, but then they had Terry O' Quinn once again. 😅

So that "lonely night" that she invited Mulder to her bed. I think that's referencing that flashback episode in Season 8 Per Manum. Where she came home with Mulder waiting for her and she told Mulder that the IVF had failed. I believe that was the first time they had sex and it was only sex out of need.
I also think this happen before All Things. Because for most of Season 7 they were really cool with each other and there were no conflicts between them. But then at the start All Things there's this tension between them similar to what happen in Never Again.
So I think they had sex before All Things and maybe things got awkward between them and then they finally got together as a couple by the end of All Things. Because after All Things they were really cool with each other, hanging out and watching movies together, and just being more close to each other.
