I always felt like the vaccine Simmons created helped keep a bit of Andrew in lash. Lash instinct was to attack bad inhumans but that instinct must have been to get rid of potential enemies that could be controlled by hive. He stopped all the ones in 3x10 and the good ones like Joey and daisy he spared. Then if a good one was controlled he cured them.
