And I totally agree with you, an okay episode but with the welcome addition of a great new character - he is very likeable and fun, the casting was great for this role. I think the plot’s pretty simplistic for this reason, to focus on him, although there are certainly a few plot holes that could have been tidied up - Why didn’t Merlin tell Arthur about the men from the tavern, even without proof, he may have listened to him? Wouldn’t Arthur have wanted to know why Merlin got into a fight with them in the first place? Couldn’t Gaius have told Uther, he definitely would have listened to Gaius?! Etc etc. Oh well. And Gwaine, or in some versions Gawain, is actually a classic Arthurian character, dating right back to some of the oldest tellings! So he’s got some importance in the Arthurian legend. Lots of great episodes coming up this season, can’t wait!

2022-11-14 09:55:17 +0000 UTCYeah, I dont care much (or not at all really) about this episode, except for Gwain, in fact I normally press forward to see just his scenes whenever Im watching this episode, love him! And not gonna lie, I lowkey shipped him with Merlin (maybe not so low)
