Regarding if Nigels crash would've stopped the race, i think it was in one of his autobiographies and it was the race director who said it to him...

Hi Glenn, I just wanted to say that I quite enjoy the lengthy run times for these debriefs. Personally, I’d be happy if they were all an hour+. Thanks mate

Nathan Fischer

I'm too young to remember this race, but those toy cars really took me back! I used to have the exact same green Benetton sponsored one (a 1984 Alfa I believe) as well as a McLaren and a Brabham if I remember correctly

Jurriaan Vegter

Interesting to hear how the interest in the eras breaks down from the survey. It would be interesting to see a cross section of that survey that shows who chose which era, eg; which era would people born in the their 30s or 20s want to go back to, and how far back would they go compared to those who are a little older.

Clive James’ quote on the lay of the land at Lotus in 86 was that β€˜even the portaloos were set-up for Senna’. If true, then Dumfries really was onto a hiding to nothing.

Chris Parrott

Thanks for the time invested in these Glenn. I’ve listened to every BBV10s podcast five or six times, going all the way back to episode one.

Ben DePew

We'll need to have Debrief debrief episodes soon!

Daniel Hayes

Blimey, that was a shift and a half. Nice work as always Glenn. My first intro to this race was on the opening credits to They Think It's All Over, a sport/comedy panel show in the UK in the 90s.

Simon Emms

I think that's a really good shout - it probably doesn't help that the race took place in the pre Live TV era to be considered by many. But all the classic ingredients are there

Stuart Coulter

I had this kind of experience but with videogames as I played Super Monaco GP on the Sega Master System before I ever watched F1

Disc Infiltrator

Brilliant - and to follow up my Mansell VHS comment, I was also a huge Mansell fan and I still am, albeit I can accept now he could be a difficult character!

Richard Snape

Really appreciate the time you're spending on the debrief episodes Glenn - another great listen.

Jon Curry

Honestly, I think even with the 'famous' races having a sort of already complete history done on them, the benefit of these videos outside the scope of the V10 era (and even the V10 era) is the hindsight opinions on events from drivers and team bosses that you get into, alongside the smattering of news and innuendo from the enthusiast press which helps add context to what was going on in the scene at that time.

Tarran Sanders

Despite what you just said about the analytics of fan interest in pre-90s F1 however if we are talking classic three-way title deciders, then the 1964 Mexican Grand Prix is the goat, where three drivers and three teams were in the title hunt in the last race?

Lancelott

Glenn bringing out the toy cars and saying he was playing with them as a kid not having a clue F1 actually existed reminds me of how for Christmas in the early 90s (1992/93 maybe?) I received from an aunt a set of Top Trumps Group C Cars - not really being that interested in them - and then nearly a decade later having got massively into Motorsport discovering I actually had these Top Trumps and thinking WOW these are class πŸ˜‚ Anyway, I enjoyed the debrief as much as the actual podcast!

Stuart Coulter

So... how long until these exceed the length of the actual episode? πŸ˜‚ Anyways always appreciate any BBV10s content !!
