Race two in The Race MotoGP Podcast’s 2015 revisited series is as much about who wasn’t there as who was, as we debate Honda’s shock decision to turn down Casey Stoner’s offer of a comeback at the Grand Prix of the Americas as Dani Pedrosa’s stand-in while Pedrosa recovers from what he hopes will be career-saving surgery.
As you might imagine, even without Stoner and Pedrosa Honda was in pretty good shape: Marc Marquez was already unbeaten at Austin in his first two MotoGP seasons. But his weekend was not exactly straightforward this time.
Simon Patterson, Val Khorounzhiy, Megan White and Matt Beer give their takes on Honda’s Stoner snub, Marquez’s wall-jumping ability, more stirrings of a major Ducati resurgence and a race that sadly typified Scott Redding’s MotoGP career. Plus a cameo from a VERY young Fabio Quartararo.
