These are easily foragable if you live in the right climate too! We went out and foraged some Western red cedar when covid started. The natives here used it as a remedy for pneumonia back in the day. It's good to add to your collection if you can find it!

I had to laugh at the mention of stocking up on vitamins: I am a natural medicine FREAK - would never let that go! That being said, I'd like to encourage this community to consider making their own herbal tinctures. So easy to do, cheaper than buying pre-prepared products, and will give you a cushion against future herb shortages: for example, Elderberry and Echinacea could barely be found anywhere, even online, at the height of the covid issue in April.

This is an awesome checklist! I've been preparing for a while, and I still don't have meet up plans for our family if anything happens. She seemed to touch on a lot of things that many avid Preppers write off... like cereal. Not everyone has a climate that they can make cereal last for a super long time, but stocking up on something that lasts a few years will keep someone from having to dip into their longest-term food storage for that much longer. Winter is another key element that a lot of people forget. I'm prepping for winter right now. It's supposed to be a doozy here in Minnesota. Thanks for the info and link, AP!
