Added 2018-05-02 17:10:45 +0000 UTCi had to get REAL tore up to sit through this. it's a weird discussion where some guy, i guess he's youtube famous or something (his name is "Wang?") keeps talking about these cartoons like they're pieces of meat and it's just very uncomfortable. i mean literal pieces of meat, like he literally talks about their "thigh meat" and "drumsticks." god i almost threw up writing that. and sirancha's no help, she's just sitting there bidding on love live drinking glasses on ebay the whole time. why do i do this. do i hate myself THIS much?

I'm all for self-deprecating humor, but Watamote takes it to an extremely weird level. It's just depressing as opposed to funny imo. Although I can't say you'd enjoy sports anime either. Those get weird in an entirely different way from romance stuff. Hang in there man.

Which I found surprising (granted I'm not a huge fan myself), but you'd think with cultural osmosis being a thing she'd have seen some of it. She's seen Kiss Him, Not Me (yes I know what that anime about "boys being tricked into kissing other boys" is called). But I'm really interested to know what she has you watching. I mean I certainly don't think anime is for everyone, but I've seen hundreds of anime and love the stuff. There are certainly some really bad animes out there, and some weird ones that even I enjoy. But I gotta know what you saw that scarred you to the point that you think all anime is terrible. Also on a side note I'd like to thank you for referencing Star Trek in some of your stuff because between your references and my friends never shutting up about it I have taken my first foray into the franchise and started TNG recently. We are nearly done with the second season, and although there have been some major shitters along the way, there have also been quite a few episodes I really like. It hasn't been any worse than most of the anime I've seen at least *wink*wink*. Although, I think TNG so far has some of the shittiest alien design I've ever seen in sci-fi. Everyone's head looks like an ass or a scrotum, and the only aliens I've hated more are the Psyclos from Battlefield Earth. Either way I'm told the writing gets better this next season when the showrunner changes, so I'm looking forward to it.
