Maps

I am making the first official map of Carousel soon and I would like your input. I plan to make many maps of varying detail. As you know, Carousel is a lot bigger than it looks so it may take quite a few to capture its essence. I am looking forward to the project.

However, this first map is Carousel at a glance and can only show a limited number of landmarks and destinations. Please comment any significant locations that you would like to have included on the map.

The locations of upcoming or dropped stories

The Dangerous Dino

I'd say the pawn and psychic shops, the market where they bought the painting for the Logan/Avery rescue.

Vroom

I need, NEED you to include the dumpster near the bowling alley 🙏 it's a holy site

clare dyer

I feel that the places that the team have lived are probably the most critical locations, along with the town centre. Outlying places -- like the railway track or the castle with the old folk in casks -- could add a sense of scale if you want to zoom out for this one.

Tim Dedopulos

I can only imagine it like the Elder Scrolls Online map that has central locations on the big map, then outer circles with separate maps for further out/dlc locations, which would still be very cool 😊

Catherine Green

I’m still holding out for a ttrpg! Man when I tell you I would buy and play the hell out of that thing, you don’t even know lmao

Thomas Downing

Ahh the mapping of noneuclidian geometry… that way lies madness

A map will definitely either be hit or miss considering Carousel's strange relationship with distance. If you are set on making a map, I would recommend making it in the style of Disco Elysium, which is purposefully vague and may better represent the strange distances and locations within Carousel.

Fabledranger

The bridge to strings attached. Financial District. The players current bases/writs. The mini amusement park next to the Itch Factory. The Parking Lot.

Jon McCulley

my immediate reaction is "Don't make a map of carousel"

RainbowPhaze

On a similar note where that highway was

Jon McCulley

make the map like a paper fortune teller with how it is folded being referent sets. might be too much work.

Nicholas Fabian

The dollhouse too!

Mariposa

I gotta say - I wouldn't make a map. I think that being undefined makes Carousel more mysterious.

BelligerentGnu

I would do Camp Dyer, the bowling alley, the various places they ran stories (Astralist castle, Patcher farm, etc). The diner with the missing posters. And the parking lot that brought them in in the first place.

Jamie Gilbert

Could just go with a map that has all the major locations of like “phase 1” when we were still reading Riley’s phone diary. Planters Farm, Astrolist castle, Camp Dryer, the Inn, the straggler forest, the mall, the bowling alley, and the campus from Ranger Danger. Could be missing one or two it’s been a while.

Kain

Library and pawn shop for sure

EDMANGO

Has to include the Camp

Parker Groseclose

The forest w the dead eldritch, bowling alley, you should have map markers of major omens also speakeasy

wali haamid

Pawn shop, fortune teller’s, movie store, library and mall

Biz

Don't forget the diner with the missing poster boards and general direction of Snowblind.

readswellwithothers

None of the maps will be consistent, though there will be overlapping features between them

Lost Rambler

City/Town hall i forget which it is should be included along with the library they're at least somewhat plot relevant or will be

Anime Problem

Just remember to make it INconsistent dimension wise, like there is some space/time distortion goin g on at all times :D

Federico

Eastern Carousel and it's eternal fall definitely qualify. Lake Dyer and the Camp, ofc. The Astralist's Castle maybe? Oh, and Eternal Saver's Club. Gotta know where the murderous Costco is.

Vesvius

A map of the mall would be nice .

Krill-gill

The mountain the veterans wanted to pass through in the corner of the map

Gulth

Probably mainly the ones are are super plot relevant. The parking lot, Permanent Vacancy/the Final Straw area, Dyer's lodge, the Library, the University, the bowling alley, the central square. Maybe the airport In the future, I'd really love to see a map that's focused on the Omens/major locations for all the stories we've seen run

Rain

Camp Dyer and all their current bases/potential bases!

Thomas Downing

A map with landmarks of the major stories would be nice.

Sportpix

I think the Mall would be a great one to have on the Map, it's always alluded too as being super dangerous, so having it sit innocently in plain sight for everyone seems like fun

TheMortalRuins

Bowling alley and the mansion, library town hall and camp dyer

rerizzen
