Storyline Ideas

Alright, the first storyline of Book Six is a freebie. Comment with your ideas, and then I will create a Patreon poll with 3-4 finalists inspired by them. It's been a while since we've done this.

I will consider any idea, from monster types to various plots. Feel free to reference movies or other storylines. I am a blank slate. Remember to like any comment with an idea you like.

A zombie movie akin to train to busan where the zombies are fast and they come at you with reckless abandon but it's a rescue trope for Antoine's brother so they are trapped somewhere and you are on your way to get them while fighting off the horses of zombies

Toph

I would love a Kaiju storyline at some point, probably about escaping the city it's rampaging in and trying not to be collateral in the fight between it and the military/other Kaiju, something akin to the Cloverfield or Godzilla movie, but obviously just in terms of vibes and general concept, maybe even have a more invisible threat, maybe the kaiju has toxic blood or carries disease, or maybe it, like Cloverfield, has tiny parasites that jump off and attack people, something that means they can't just avoid the kaiju by going halfway across the city, the danger it has spreads out from just the rampage.

Chained

For the Outsider Criminal Aspect (I don't remember what the actual aspect name is), it would be interesting if that Aspect got a rescue where the players are the villains in the storyline.

Mariposa

I wonder if we do this, and this meta story is the one the audience agrees they want, will the team realize that a lot of the audience favors Riley? (He's our MC, ofc we would but. What would that awareness mean for everyone? That the Audience and therefore, Carousel favors Riley now to an extent that far surpassed what they previously thought?) I would love it, too. If this story was introduced as a letter addressed to Riley and Kimberly (as Director and Acress respectively) to be recommended as a new and exciting story to run, specifically made with them in mind. "High risk, high reward~" and then when Kimberly calls her manager(?) The manager also highly recommends she take the gig, and how this? This will skyrocket her popularity and will be something everyone would want to watch and enjoy! Who doesn't adore a meta story with characters aware of themselves? AUGH ITS SO THRILLING AND EXCITING ITS GIVING ME SHIVERS!!

Kraz

WHEEZING!! I LOVE THIS TOO! Genuinely snorted at the title "The Last Slice"

Kraz

The party plays as the villain going against the npc hero similar to that one movie where the girl kills the group of guys in the forest

Leila

Modern lovecraftian horror would be cool. Something like Vivarium or Await Further Instructions where the enemy’s mindfucky and isn’t something that can really be fought.

Archimedes

instead of just following a story they make there own. were Instead of a found footage the players are actually filming. but to make it work they need a monster/killer which is playing the victim and instead of playing the victims the players are the killers, as long as the camera is roiling every one has to act there part but when the camera stops the roles are switched back. can they survive outside a story and can they make a great move?

Nicholas Fabian

I love this idea! That omen that came one time which caused the hallway outside to be crooked was probably something like that. I hope they run it at some point.

jacob joseph

Would love to see a storyline where the antagonist is a location, sort of The Shining / House of Leaves kind of thing, with warping space and hyper geometry. I remember there was an omen that felt like that in the loft, where they looked out the door and the corridor was going wobbly or something. The characters could be called in to sort out the belongings of a friend/relative who vanished. Only to find that the house is moving and hiding things from them. Rooms that weren't there, windows that show different places depending on whether you're looking in or out from them. Would maybe act like a puzzle box where they start trying to untangle the layout of the house, only to realise that this is how it traps people. Then a puzzle box mystery becomes an escape storyline.

Archie

Or and i am just putting this out there, a reefer madness pastiche

Sartrina

Last second edition but this current arc made me think a thing like unfriended where it is all epistolary and the characters can't leave their computers would be amazing. Just a bit of modern digital horror for a quick arc, maybe with a countdown for someone like the (presumably) reintroduced Camden to have to research before the final girl. Maybe even bring back the classic oblivious bystander combo for riley to stall for some last second extra time!

Sartrina

I got one I've been calling the Milliners Machine in my head. The group enters the story as a gang of investigators ala scooby doo and are investigating am abandoned hat factory that has more then a few mysterious disappearances associated with it. Maybe someone hired them, maybe they stumbled upon it. Could take it a few different directions but the primary one i see is a classic man driven mad story. Also serves as an excuse to give the characters silly hats which is always fun

Charles Harold

I'd like to see a storyline that only shows one character. Like the game Amnesia where the sole protagonist has to hide and run from the big bad.

Mariposa

Some slice of life is always fun. Maybe they'd take some lower risk storylines to get some variety, maybe finally see what horror comedy is all about.

Vesvius

I kind of want to see the group hang out with each other more in between the storylines.

Starbright

Wasn’t one of the storylines around lake dyer essentially a lost world scenario?

jacob joseph

Me too!

jacob joseph

Some ideas 1. They answer the door at the loft maybe accidentally? 2. A more action focused plot instead of the mystery something like indiana jones but with a horror element or zombies from resident evil

Leila

Def came here to say saw type plotline. I was a bit disappointed the escape room aspect of the scab story were dropped

Leila

Until I make the poll. You have plenty of time

Lost Rambler

By the way how much longer can we keep posting suggestions?

jacob joseph

Chupacabra dinosaurs :D

Warren (Stephen) Rose

Could be different categories too. Riley nominated both for actor and director, Antoine for doing his own stunts, etc.

Slightly Morbid

I would enjoy a satire take on the Zombie genre like "The Dead don't Die."

Parker Groseclose

Yes I would love to see more lovecraftian horror too.

jacob joseph

YES!

Rachel Shockley

If I never have to read the word bedbug it’ll be too soon *shudders*. That aside, I think your idea is a very interesting one, definitely feel like Benny would be good choice in that scenario.

Rachel Shockley

I would love to see something like either a very sophisticated lovcraftian story line or a just ridiculously silly slasher (I think the characters would have some great reactions to a silly monster)

Rachel Shockley

“School Spirit”

Rachel Shockley

I honestly would love to see a silly slasher.

Rachel Shockley

Zombie especially would allow for more focus on the new infection trope, and would probably let Micheal stand out with the more action. Also i feel it would be a good chance to introduce the military doctor advanced archetype (either through a paragon or through Andrew getting points toward it)

Sartrina

I just want a more dark fantasy thing or zombie movie, i feel like neither genre has been touched on (except the body snatching wizards, though the focus there was more on the mystery)

Sartrina

Small town cult in 1920s. Very chuthlu. Some of the players can be rum runners trying to figure out why their supply from the town has dried up, others are investigating disappearances. Spanish flu devastated the town especially the children like, towns folk turned to something old and darker from within the woods. But now the kids aren't normal and the towns doing all it can to keep it's secert and try and figure out how to make the kids normal which means more cult magic of course

Sam

Zombie Ass Toilet of the Dead

Alon Rozental

Or give a counter it it like Weeping Angels

Alon Rozental

It would be nice if the players could use some thoroughline specific mechanism to permanently secrrifice tropes for thoroughline benefits. It would also be nice if the players keep the end of story social status / gained super powers for the next story in the line.

Alon Rozental

I really like the starting at a dystopia angle, maybe not 1984 but something that starts after the worst future already happened.

Alon Rozental

Last one, maybe a storyline inspired by the black and white movie Them! The party goes to investigate mysterious disappearances in the desert. They discover giant mutated insects who do their best to kill them! They have to find a way to put down the monstrous infestation before it’s too late!

jacob joseph

Maybe a Kaiju story? KRSL is experimenting in a lab somewhere experimenting with a substance that instantly heals whatever injury when injected near the wound site. However the substance keeps on healing the person and they keep growing and they start to become monstrous and unrecognizable as a human and is tall as a skyscraper and possibly has powers like fire breath and so forth.

jacob joseph

I’ve always felt carousel could use some superhero horror.

jacob joseph

Something like brightburn could be interesting, a super powerful friend, family or even relative is going slowly insane or becoming unhinged and it's up to you to either teach them the error of their ways and failing that to kill them, and if not then they kill almost everyone in the group and only one or two people somehow escape, lots of devastation, adventure, character building, and clever strategies could be added to the plot. Kind of like a dragon you're trying to tame and not realising it's true nature until it's too late.

BlackFlame Lord

I mean we know that storyline exists but if they go there they gonna die lol. That storyline killed experienced level 50-60s and it wasn’t close

Kain

As was mentioned around the time of the doll house/shopping chapter. Maybe an omen/storyline that put all its points into stealth ie. It’s not too dangerous but it’s actually able to sneak up on Riley and Co. and maybe even the whole storyline is that they need to figure out that they’re in a storyline to begin with obviously there would be subtle clues to detect or things are just generally off. One other one just a good ol murderer no magic no sci-fi just a good old fashioned villain maybe they use a machete and it’s a slasher/thriller maybe they use poison or some “undetectable” but real killing method and it’s a murder mystery/detective movie.

Kain

It could be cool to see something focused around the new trope objects, either with them being the villain or some large element of the setting. Maybe something that's cursed but could be a useful re-occuring tool, so the characters are going for a harder ending where they break the curse rather than simply destroy the item? Could be either for the haunted object collection, an upgrade on Antoine's baseball bat (cursed fencing sword? IDK), or even a weapon for Michael - or something weirder, like a cursed scalpel, make-up palette, or camera, or something to fill out a new trope someone gets after the last storyline of this book

Jacob Diver

Slasher horror where players are hunted by serial killer pizza delivery drivers. The drivers are actually possessed by a demonic pizza oven from hell. Omen would be something like ordering a pizza and not tipping the driver. Coming to a theatre near you! “The Last Slice”

Ross Halley

Locked in haunted highschool at night

Hevalisk

Players are trapped in a "Truman show" , and the storyline needs them to discover it and escape. The tension might come from being able to create a coherent story, but also that some of the players might choose to stay behind because it's a peaceful storyline and they prefer it to being in carousel.

Ash M

I know they have tons of means of avoiding them but I also kinda want to see an omen manage to surprise a group so they go into a storyline blind.

Brian Spurlock

Or Serena's pack vs bedbugs?

Brian Spurlock

Halle vs Halle?

Brian Spurlock

I don't know if you watch Dimension 20, but in Fantasy High (mild to moderate spoilers ahead) there's a monster called Baron from the Baronies who is a nightmare born of one of the characters lie about having a long distance significant other. In one of its appearances it takes everyone to a nightmare version of one of the characters' houses and does a haunted house with versions of their family. It travels through mirrors and can possess players by making them switch with their reflection. Truly terrifying and potentially a fun way to keep torturing Riley with his past and the "romance isn't in my wheelhouse" angle.

Brian Spurlock

Aliens could be cool and is something you haven't done, something like Signs.

Actaeix

I’d like something like SCP horror story scenarios or anything like The Backrooms (I love the backrooms so much)

Lena Papa

A horror movie setting, where the MCs are playing Saw's games.

D A

If that happens, the starship/submarine AI in Riley's pocket must be a part of that story, somehow.

Gerard Kiryczyński

I would love to see a Lovecraft inspired cosmic-horror storyline akin to "the colour out of space". Incomprehensible protagonists, with the only way to "stop" them being to interrupt the cult that summons them. Bonuspoints if they are summoning the carousel version of azatoth xD

Hydrabogen

I've always thought that the weeping angels from Dr. Who would make a scary horror movie monster

Matt Erlendson

I’d like to see fairies. That sounds really different.

Mirron

I didn’t know about it at the time, but pretty much yeah, except with our protagonists aware of the disappearances but not aware of what’s doing it

Trent Cannon

Dinosaurs! Would love a horror version of Jurassic Park.

FTL_wishes

Rescue version of an Omen we have seen before. How about that faceless crying kid at the mall clothing store?

Warren (Stephen) Rose

Random idea: a Cowboy Western Horror Storyline in the vein of From Dusk Till Dawn where a small town is attacked by a bloodthirsty supernatural menace of some variety.

Vesvius

I really want to see what the mobile omen in the library leads to, since they said it was supposed to be very hard!

Sieran Yung

Ghost ship story! Could be monsters, gangsters or ghosts. I'm thinking of the movie Deep Rising (1998) or Ghost Ship (2002).

The Wyverns

1. A restaurant that serves people as food and is run by a bunch of ghoul like monsters that hide their stats until they transform. 2. The group could takes a job a elementary school where one of the children has a cursed object that turns the children’s imaginary friends in reality, they may be nice by they don’t know what could hurt someone like they think it fun to juggle knives, learning to fly by jumping off a roof, or believing that you can survive any thing as long as you believe. The win conditions for the story line is to find the curse object and destroy it or neutralize it. When the story is over it can be given to Cassie for her collection.

Rex2000m

A storyline that is a crossover storyline of two different other storyline, where the monsters of each are in conflict. Like Freddy Versus Jason or Alien Vs Predator.

Darcy

A bit tangential sorry, It was a thought that occurred to me during the last story line given the exposition, Riley's build is designed to setup things up for the others to succeed. If you want a story line to have more "oh fuck" narrative tension, you could have things go balls up and put Riley or another unsuited role / group as the last one/s alive. Effectively some thing going sideways and derailing the normal setup / pacing they try to achieve with their roles putting them into a scrambling free fall. I should probably address the post XD, Story line idea: Drop our hero's into a setting with just the unsettling ruins of a world with absolutely no NPC's, at least to start.Play to the environmental horror. No exactly horror but Outer Wilds is a game that does this kind of environmental storytelling well.

Solo

Parody horror film, a la scary movie!

CommodoreCaptain

Action-horror where the mcs get to be badasses, like Aliens or the Doom video games. You get a shotgun! You get a shotgun! ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE INVOLVED GETS A SHOTGUN!

BelligerentGnu

One with a creature that grants wishes but monkey paws it

Corey Paulson

Nothing In particular but a supernatural/ monster with thalassophobia elements would be a good change of pace/setting difference

Morrison

Some sort of shapeshifter would be cool

jason m

Deep sea horror. But I like what others are suggesting about facing their evil doppelgangers .

Starbright

Merry (go round) the animatronic mascot of carousel get the soul of a giest accidentally transferred to it and is out to avenge all slights against its family

Abtist

Maybe a horror parody of the Scooby Doo cartoon. Some college kids investigate a haunted amusement park, and slowly get picked off one by one.

Drake

An arcade where they get sucked into the plot of a horror arcade game with badly pixel monsters

Chase kirby

I have 3 ideas: 1: Scenario where the environment itself is the non-obvious enemy: Examples are The Happening and The Mist. You did a version of that with the Apocalypse event, but maybe something smaller scale 2: A social commentary similar to Get Out where a character's demographic background and history is something salient to the plot 3: A story about being or overcoming the "Trickster" archetype described in African folktales/parables such as Anansi the Spider or Tales of Brer Rabbit. Related is the dealing with djinns or with Sphinx where you either need to word wishes well or have to solve riddles in order to move on.

Hiro

So all the players were stars of their own movies? Like they were all the last person standing?

Drake

Something from our world like an incel or stalker.

Stephen McLaughlin

Well, I was *going* to say that I wanted a story with Louisiana voodoo like The Skeleton Key, with the meta twist that the enemy's tropes don't work until the characters believe that they are real. But I like the Oscars idea so much more!

loimprevisto

Creepy Dolls vs Giant Octopus 5: The re-re-vengersense.

Aguy768

It would be interesting to see an story set in like a ski resort in the cold wilderness with a supernatural killer, something like Until Dawn combined with the Shining.

Conor Yule

I'd love to see a comedy horror with a truly bad premise like Sharknado or Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

Chaded

horror and comedy work well together the timing of bother are similar.

Nicholas Fabian

I don't care if it's canon, but on February 2nd a Groundhog Day story would be awesome!

Federico

That's almost what happened in the woods right?

Federico

A japanese cultural exhibition in Carousel releases a bunch of Yokai spirits hellbent on mischief and mayhem.

Slightly Morbid

Many a cabin in the woods type where they have to choose monster but the main enemy is an organization that is running test like in the " subject of inquiry" story line.

Krill-gill

I was thinking something like 'The Collector' or 'Don't Breath'

Bakerdea

I've been wracking my brain to come up with something and I only have two things that might be vaguely entertaining: 1. A subverting of expectations type of story, like where the players believe that obvious monsters are the main antagonist. But it turns out that the monsters are the true victims of the situation, and the party actually has to help protect/help them somehow (though I recognize this is kinda similar to the final straw in concept) 2. A fantasy inspired horror story where the party have been offered up as sacrifices to a monster (dragon; lich; vampire; etc) and they have to try and escape as both the monster hunts them down and the townsfolk would do anything to make sure the party dies as they should.

Lucian

Maybe something like the king in yellow or Scp 701? The party are cast in a play with a horrifying reputation! In the run up to opening night strange and terrible things happen. Then during the opening night performance something is summoned at the end of the third and final act and starts attacking the crowd!

jacob joseph

Why don’t you do an English Fae story set in Carousel Forest with the gang being mislead into it without knowing and gathering. You can also have traditional Elves that go against the modern archetype with them being evil and ruthless. While the fae gives them some convoluted trials as they are ‘guests’ while trying to mislead them to their own deaths. Can have it set in deep woods with them going there to camp and have our resident Psychic be compelled by the fae powers to lead them to its domain. With the focus being on outwitting the fae and surviving their trials and deceptions.

DeadSlime

I third this!!

Lucian

I would love to see a comedy horror movie (Gremlins? Ghostbusters? Evil Dead?) where the rules require the characters to wise-crack and chew the scenery in order to succeed. Something where Isaac's abilities become central to success.

Adam Pugh

Oooh! Like a False Hydra from DnD?

Lucian

Cube is one of my favorite suspense/horror movies.

Adam Pugh

Maybe medieval horror? Set in a monastery or an abbey and the party are there to investigate the order and find out that they have summoned or hiding demonic creatures?

jacob joseph

I am gonna say this one more time with my whole chest…. Space werewolves.

Rnd per

Time Loop style storyline? Except you have a finite number of loops, and only one person remembers what happened each loop?

Biz

I love the idea of the story trying to be lighthearted but Carousel just making it a grisly horror

Oliver Carohan

Kind of like "the Last of Us" style zombie apocalypse?

Biz

Like an escape room style horror storyline?

Biz

Maybe something like 1984. They are captured by agents of a totalitarian government while trying to smuggle out damaging information about the government and are slowly tortured while trying to find a way to escape with the information intact.

jacob joseph

A good time loop story is always great. The group arrive at the tropical island resort of carousel. A group of 10 tourists are in the group. At the end of the day, one tourist is murdered by an unknown assailant, to make matters worse the local volcano erupts destroying the whole resort. Riley wakes back up at their arrival, only now the group has 9 tourists. Etc. etc. Bonus points if the staff gives off a cult/ancient religion vibe for added creep factor.

Jamie Collier

Can they play Carousels version of Jumanji? That sounds like a "lighthearted" start into a new story

Predyca

Something something evil mushroom spores infesting the local wildlife, escalating over time until it can infect humans. The difficulty of the final showdown is highly dependent on how successfully the players can stymie the spread and convince the townsfolk to quarantine

RainbowPhaze

Mascot horror or the Astralist 2 is something I'm interested in

EDMANGO

Or alternatively they enter the town and they find a list of rules. Different types of people can have different rules. If the rules are broken they are punished as listed by the rules. Will they escape or find the secret behind the rules?

Vega

Or maybe evil versions of themselves.

Agent Talon

Hard boiled noir detective crossed with horror.

Jon Lundy

An Illusion/Dream monster that forces the players to fight their deepest fears, give them a taste of what Antoine just went through.

Agent Talon

What about a story where the players start as bad guys, like thieves, but the place they're robbing is haunted, and now they need to escape.

Bakerdea

A horror comedy in a haunted mansion, something like High Spirits or Haunted Honeymoon. This would be a chance to see Issac and Cassie in a storyline again.

readswellwithothers

Maybe something with mascot horror. They are hired to be the crew to a revival of a favorite children’s tv show but find the puppets after hours are not only alive, hungry, and sociopathic they are seeking a way out of the studio to hunt.

jacob joseph

This might be too complicated, but here it is: It's a mix of Saw and a game of chess, Camden is a chess master and the villain traps him in a game where the pieces are the other players.

Federico

Since they Will be going into a torture/puzzle story tô save their friends, why not Begin with something like that story... Like saw or final destination.

Di M

This may fall a bit close to space station storyline, but I think something akin to the Cube movies or 999: escape games would be cool. A genuine "navigate through this death maze" storyline. Without escorting surrogates through, the focus can be on the environment and the maniac that set it all up

Jamie Collier

I'm fond of vampire murder mysteries. I'm also fond of connected story lines like Final Straw. In this two-part storyline, the first story is about getting the truth out. In the beginning, they need to find out what monster is killing people (they are unaware it's vampires). In the middle, they have to find out where the vampires live and their identity. And in the finale, they have to convince a NPC - someone skeptic, someone who was antagonistic, etc - to escape with all of their evidence. The players, for whatever reason, are unable to escape themselves. They must give an in-story reason to stay behind, like distracting the vampires or wanting revenge. The players are also unable to defeat the vampires. The vampires may have influential and powerful human disguises. In the second story, they play as monster hunters. The win condition is killing the vampires. This storyline requires more plot armor than the first, and as such, can be put off until an appropriate moment e.g. Antione earning a Monster Hunter archetype. The second storyline begins immediately after the NPC from the first storyline arrives to tell the truth. The players are unable to discover any weaknesses of the vampires that remained undiscovered from their playthrough of the first story. Instead, first blood, rebirth, and second blood are a series of battles and traps. The evidence from the first storyline must be used in their plans, whether its gathering a mob of people to fight with them or creating a powerful weapon. At the end, in the finale, the players' survival is optional as long as the vampires die.

VestedStream283

The team enters a perfectly normal town on a perfectly normal day. In this perfectly normal town at 4:28 pm on the dot a single person dies. The team must either figure out how to escape or find the source of the curse. If they can figure out how a person is selected they can avoid death. The town residents understand the rules and will do anything to stave off death another day! Edit: I’m not sure how this would work with the plot cycle. Maybe first blood repeats till they find out part of the secret?

Vega

Yeah, something lovecraftian as the main story instead of secret lore.

Jon Lundy

Got another one: Who says you can't reach the Dao in Carousel? The gang has become culivators in a horror setting! There's a demonic culivator family on the loose. The gang must navigate through arrogant young masters, Carousel horrors, deviant sects, etc. in order to find the demonic culivator family before they "refine" the entire town of Carousel.

Jadedknot

THISSS!! OH!! THIS WOULD BE SO COOL!

Kraz

Or maybe something like the shadow over innsmouth where they visit or investigate a town with a dark secret and find that the inhabitants have made a pact with horrifying creatures.

jacob joseph

What about a story where people are being erased from existence, with no one but them seeming to remember? The players have to find out who or what is doing this before they disappear too

Trent Cannon

I would say something like lost panthers idea. A sudden discovery of a lost civilization or city and archeologists are sent to do the initial excavations and end up discovering something lovecraftian there. Possibly tie in with secret lore.

jacob joseph

Oh no, a group of investigators have found out that a mad scientist has discovered a way to create the living dead. The team must find a way to stop the doctor or survive the impending zombie outbreak.

Jadedknot

I am not opposed to doing a non-western storyline. I'm not sure they all fit with the plot cycle, though. Give me movie recommendations if you want to see something I haven't shown. I do get a feeling that when it is formatted for Carousel, a lot of non-western movies would feel western, if only superficially.

Lost Rambler

Team of archeologist searching for a lost civilization. The natives try to scare them off but they find the ruins. Only it was actually serving as a prison for a terrible monster. See Uncharted games or Brandon Frasier Mummy movies.

LordPanther

Go out of America. Do a Ringu or Dark Waters type movie. With redemption at the end. And Secret Lore. And let Cassie get her Aspect from here 😄

T E Low

It is, but it's a very easy one

Steven Frazier

A story where we go back to basics: Make use of our MCs starting trope of acting oblivious. The enemy could be a monster that only attacks when the players become aware of it, like a sentient reflection.

Kain01able

what about a storyline where the antagonist is like an unexplainable mysterious force of nature. Like in final destination where you dunno what’s killing you

Toffi coffe

A system apocalypse movie.

Jon Lundy

Or an apocalyptic horror storyline, as we've not seen them run one like that before

Biz

This sounds awesome, I’d love to see that!

Trent Cannon

Are you primarily sticking with Western style horror themes? you could try a storyline with more Eastern style horror movie, or horror style from another culture. It would be interesting to see Riley's response to this, and see his experience/confidence with something like this. Especially if he doesn't have much experience with that type of horror movie, if maybe it wasn't his favorite to watch growing up.

Biz

I thought that the story where they got the furniture is a body snatchers type of thing

wali haamid

A doppelganger murder mystery, where the party has to figure out which one has been replaced. The trick is, the doppelganger thinks it's the real person.

Kain01able

I know that with "black snow" there already is a story with this theme but how about a story with a chernobyl-like scenario. Something to do with a nuclear meltdown or something similar. I At least would definitely like to see another story that leans more towards science than magic.

Janik Furchert

One idea I've been pitching for a while is a horror-adventure style storyline, one with the team travelling to exotic new locations and getting murdered in them. Something like a classic Indiana Jones movie or the Mummy (1999) with a plot of 'go to place looking for mysterious artifact lost to the ages, find it, realize why it was lost to the ages, die, survivors seal it away again only hopefully better this time'. Another fun one could be a classic Rear Window psychological thriller style. The main character is trapped and witnesses horror, but no one believes him about said horror. The MC has to convince the others about the looming threat before they also get murdered.

Vesvius

I second this idea

Brandon Lydick

Oh I had a storyline idea awhile ago that I think would be a lot of fun: A meta story where the players are going to the Oscars as nominees for best horror actor, but they soon find that to survive they'll need to play the role that got them nominated in the first place. The killer wants to find who is truly the best horror actor and deserves the Oscar, high in savvy the killer forces the Players to play the characters that got their actors nominated in the first place, with clues to the killers identity hidden that tie back to the movies the Players stared in previously.

TheMortalRuins

A frankienstien type move with the monster made up of parts from missing poster people and the rescue is Riley's perk where you gotta survive the night from a monster that can effect the story just like a player

wali haamid

We need a vampire movie!

Zahir Nahasamapetial

Body snatchers? Or imposter's "The Thing" style?

Steven Frazier

This is after the upcoming storyline.

Lost Rambler

Maybe a classic movie monster? Like Frankenstein or the creature from the black lagoon.

Mudcrab with a knife

Found footage or documentary style storyline where the act of them recording is letting something into the world. Maybe masked by them either doing an expose of a cult or a magician.

Dave Matney

This is After the rescue right?

Federico

Both proper ghosts and/or vampires are on the top of my list, personally

Swordsman300
