In pictures this week we lead with the classic Club biscuit followed by the interloper Club "Cake Crunch" and the can of mushroom soup signed by Nigel Mansell. Sadly the actual listing for this has gone. Then we have the new Dacia Duster, an annoying Sierra gearknob, the latest Land Cruiser 70 with its Funko face and mis-matched tracks, and actual Funkos in case you don’t know what they are.

Genesis isn’t leaving the UK but it won’t be a standalone company any more

Troll? Moi? I am known as „The Ghost“ . Mostly unseen… but always watching … :) except at Piss Vistss … that’s just wrong … ! :D

Andy Pinchock

Lacking a better place to say this I just want to say last night's OTLOT was great, really good fun and I even got one of my books defaced. Just enjoyed a coffee from my new 'It'll do this all day' mug. There's one thing that's been playing on my mind though - what did Jonny think of the inclusion of a Jeep Avenger in the video you had playing in the lobby? Did it make his eye twitch a bit?

Matt Tester

I was secretly hoping you were trolling us and it would be the shittyflute version but that was great, another banger from Stellantis.

Matt Tester

It's Friday ... here is a quasi Drum & Bass/Techno version of the Airwolf Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G--botbk-o You're welcome...

I've stumbled upon a piss vista themed TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@scenic_pisses?_t=8hzQQsJJDdY&_r=1

A "please don't fine us EU" stock movement incentive?

Adrian Woodfield

The link above gives £10k all in for 2 years and 12k miles in a Buzz. That’s got to be unbeatable vs depreciation at the moment! I have NO space or need for one but I’m so close to ‘pulling the trigger’

K B

They do include a lot of gaudy pieces of dog mud (to borrow a phrase) though... QX80, GV80, LX. No worse than the Xm I suppose....

Zoona

Italian mountains are the natural habitat of the unfeasiibly rusty panda 4x4... http://zoona.co.uk/files/Random/panda4x4italy.jpg

Zoona

Crikey. They've come down all of a sudden. I've just seen one for £311 a month (albeit with 5000pa mileage allowance). Richard

Smith and Sniff

I've heard it say the Duster has replaced the old Panda 4x4 as the car of choice for locals in certain Alpine regions. Richard

I was just going to post about this, know Johnny has been knocking on about one for ages. Maybe facelift/upgrade coming next year, or stock not shifting

Ian Finlay

Anyone know what the fudge is happening here? This is impossibly cheap no?! https://centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/volkswagen/idbuzz/100721/150kw-style-pro-77kwh-5dr-auto

if you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club!!

I only just realised how close OTLOT 8 will be to the Binley Mega Chippy...

Matt Tester

I will make no statement about the gullibility or otherwise of the American car buying public...haha All I remember is, here in Australia at least, Mazda tried to copy Toyota with their Eunuch sorry Eunos brand, but that failed miserably. Honda never tried to bring Acura here. Infiniti tried and failed too - sure, they had "separate" dealerships, but when it shares the same driveway with your Nissan counterparts you ain't fooling anybody. Genesis seem to be doing ok here, but I think they're more closely following Toyota's method and trying to distance themselves more from Hyundai.

Jeremy Cheah

……maybe Americans are just more gullable…..🤔😂

Stanley Elder

They all appear to be succeeding with the strategy quite well in the US though (by “all” I mean Lexus, Infinity, Acura, and Genesis). They do all have stand-alone showrooms etc. here.

Stanley Elder

Yes! Nothing to do with the classic British Club’

Stanley Elder

“Find Another!”

I now have a spare ticket for thursday's OTLOT if anyone would like it? i unfortunately can't go

Does the DC not stand for Dacia Cars?

Adrian J

Years ago, after taking the dog to the vet I stopped on the way home to get a chippy tea. Parked up, got out, then bent down to look through the back window and check the dog was OK Then I whirled round to set off in the direction of the chippy, having not noticed I was parked next to a lamp post. Face-planted into the steel post, then stumbled into the chippy where I apparently mumbled that I wanted a sausage supper before collapsing on the floor. Don't remember anything about that bit but have been reminded more often than is polite by 2 mates who were already in the chippy.

Dave Law

Just think what the full set could be worth...

Zoona

when the Duster first came out, i remember being in Austria and you couldn't move for the bastards. Mainly in bargain-basement white. But it means they must be good in the mountains. Always fancied getting one and doing a silly engine swap.

Zoona

I always thought David Coulthard had that look, but not the car with square wheels 😂

John Hammond

might have missed it in the pod, but the Mansell soup is from a multipack, not to be sold individually, which raises many more questions.

Nick Birse

Have an old, but still running fine, Fiat Bravo 155 HGT and the embossed shift map has worn off the leather gear lever. Left it in airport valet parking, company paid!, and upon collection was asked to collect the car from where they'd parked it myself as 'they couldn't find reverse'! Made up a little shift map and stuck to centre console for next time...

Robin Capper

Mansell Soup has to go in the Smith & Sniff dictionary. I want a complete range of Mansell branded food akin to Ainsley Harriot or Paul Holywood

John Hammond

Clubs are savory in the US, nice buttery crackers

david marden

In Aussie there are companies that will fix the track of the Land Cruisers, they will also lengthen the chassis because they aren't that great at towing big weights apparently, so you see them here with about another foot in the wheel base and it looks quite wrong. Also Gary Larson was asked where he got his ideas from and he would say there is only one that he got from real life experience, it was the chin up bar.

Stephen Voss

Oh my word I want those Pet Shop Boys figures

Adam

I still can't help but think that these companies trying the upmarket sub-brand thing, and then inevitably failing, are still trying to replicate what Toyota did with Lexus, except they forgot that Toyota completely removed themselves from any association with Lexus until a few years in. Completely different showrooms etc etc. If I remember correctly, the only (or one of the only) places where the Toyota badge appeared on the LS400 was a battery cover or something like that - something to investigate for Book 5!

Jeremy Cheah

Thank you for the kind offer, but our local bio shop has something similar sold loose without the wrappers! I will be back in UK at Christmas so I might indulge then!

Steve Morton

This Japanese company has just opened a branch in San Diego and incredibly there's already one of their trucks near me. Presently stalking it through the neighbourhood. Essentially, they backdate the couple of previous-gen Land Cruisers to look like the 70 and 80. https://flexmotor.com/

Brendan McAleer

Love a club biscuit, I think the Duster looks great too. I got the concept vibe from it and despite not looking anything alike I'm reminded of the old Isuzu VehiCROSS.

Matt Tester

Would you like some sent over Steve?

Gabriel Grist-Parker

It was the final day of my GCSE exams, I was at home and jumped into the air. I took out a large section of super low ceiling (6 ftish) around and was covered in stone dust and plaster. I got a D in that exam, I wonder why

Gabriel Grist-Parker

More excellent content, thank you! Club biscuits - free when you give blood, main reason I go! Separately, the Ford great knob pictured is from an MT-75, arguably the successor to the Type 9, I think the Type 9 R135 24 did have the gates marked - though maybe not on the Sierra! Not apologising for the pedantry - this must be a safe space :)

William Moses

Club biscuits. Fond memories of those, I haven’t had one in years mainly because I don’t live in UK!! I became an expert in sliding out the biscuit from the paper wrapper. Removing the biscuit from the silver foil wrapper. Refolding the silver foil and reinserting it back in the paper wrapper, leaving it as a replica look alike empty Club biscuit!

Steve Morton

Not going to lie, the duster.looks decent

John Hempson

Ok who's making the knock off smith and sniff funko figurines?

Tom Lock

Hate those funko pops, anyone under 30 who has a collection definitely hasn’t had intercourse

Gabriel Grist-Parker

Notarianni’s ice cream parlour in Sunderland had every flavour of Club arrayed behind the glass counter at child height. In my minds eye this was an extraordinary cornucopia stretching into the far distance. It was probably a couple of feet long at most.

Jim Galbraith

That Lewis Hamilton figurine looks like how South Park used to depict Canadians.

Richard Fitton-Perkins

Once you see the funkco resemblance you can't unsee it
