A message from Jonny v2

Sorry, messed up that one on the first attempt. Let's try this again.

If you've heard the latest podcast you'll be familiar with Jonny's views on Star Wars movies. Last weekend his kids insisted on watching another one. He left me this message while it was playing.

I enjoy pronouncing Ewan McGregor’s name to myself as Ee-Wann Mack Greegorr whenever I hear it said on the radio (don’t really watch TV any more). Sometimes I think I have too little to occupy my mind.

Tim C

The behind the scenes, for Star Wars films with McGreggor are good, shows you them practising the fights

Addison Cooke

I’ve seen the very first Star Wars film, and have never felt the urge to watch any of the other seemingly endless films in the franchise. They’re just not interesting.

Alex Brunsdon

Would Jonny be slightly more interested if he learnt Luke's Landspeeder was based on a Bond Bug?

Peter Norrish

Hes right you know

Robert Lee

Best of the franchise less Empire

Stigfan

I'm with you Jonny. Horse shit. Give me The Gumball Rally and it's Daytona Vs Cobra any day...

Rup (FastAsFunk)

I remember watching the original film as an 11 year old and thoroughly enjoying it. As an adult I still get some entertainment from them, but am not slathering to see the latest ones as they are released.

Ed Nicholson

Each to their own I say, first couple were great and Rogue One, as has previously been mentioned, is probably the best of the recent ones. Not sure this is quite the place for such negativity mind.

Mark Elliott

Must be these pigeons: https://images.app.goo.gl/D8bGpFHgiBt6dAFt6

Book of the Future

Star Wars 🤮 Ruins the rep of decent sci-fi.

Chris Squirrel

What are the pigeons doing? Being fired through the large hadron collider?

Maurice Barnes

Thankfully never seen it, which I put down to a cousin who only ate marmite on toast and was scared of loud noises. He would sit inside watching the films whilst we were outside on tractors/quads. I told an old boss part way through an operation once when he mentioned one of the movies, and you would think I’d just rogered an artery.

Tom Clynes

It is immensely reassuring to hear that I'm not alone in finding Star Wars utterly tedious.

Alistair Ellen

Can I suggest Jonny try Rogue One? Easily the best story of the lot (IMHO) and not many laser pigeons until the end.

Ross Bourne

All my mates loved Star Wars as kids, I never got it. Much preferred stuff like Smokey & the Bandit and the Cannonball Run films, because cars.

Steve Bailey

So glad you are enjoying it. Hopefully they'll be a few more for you.

Carl Pickering

I don't get Star Wars either but I'm not brave enough to say it in public. Brace yourself Jonny.

Colm Donelan

I fell asleep in the same digitally remastered showings too. I do find myself hooked into Star Wars but agree that it is a bit weak. Doesn’t stop me enjoying them.

Peter Grogan

To think I'm a patreon. Might cancel, I don't feel the need to harp on about what twats vegetarians are. Apart from just then.

Peter Heamon

I have to agree with Jonny - I just can’t take to Star Wars

Martin McKenna

You’re not alone, it’s rubbish. I too was dragged to the cinema 20 years ago by my mates and fell asleep after 20 minutes without the excitement of a scary van ride to liven up the turgid experience

andreas photiou

I’m immediately outraged!! Pigeons?? PIGEONS?? I’m going to have stop being a patron and subscriber this minute. Well, when I can be bothered to find where I have to click. Maybe tomorrow, or after Sunday’s episode. Or possibly next week.

Kit Fletcher

"The laser pigeons" sounds like a 90's synth pop act.

Mat Guest

I love Star Wars but 🤣

Jack Jones

I agree star wars is rubbish

Roman Goroshko

The Sharknado franchise had better sound effects and cgi...

zain ali

“It’s like listening to pigeons” haha. In complete agreement with Jonny.

Charlie Gilmour

That's a bit harsh Mr Smith
