Recolours, Overrides, Meshes, HQ explained...

I have had a few questions about the terminology and what they mean so I have done this post to try and explain it.

For each of these options you should only download 1 version, not both...

Override or Recolour

EA items come in recolour or override versions. The recolour will show up separately in CAS but the override will replace the EA item so you do not need to see them in CAS. If you like EA's version then I would suggest downloading the recolour. If, like me, you do not want want to see EA's ugly versions in your CAS then choose the override.

Please note: you can only have 1 override in your mods folder for each EA item so if you already have an override then my override will not show up so download the recolour. If I have already done an override for an EA item then any further recolours will be 'recolour only' versions.

Mesh or Recolour

When I colour other people's items you have the choice of the recolour or mesh versions but I only do mesh versions for patrons. A mesh version means you do not need to have the original in your mods folder as it is included in my recolour, so it saves you looking for meshes and having 2 items in your mods folder. For the recolour version you have to have the original for my recolour to show up. You may already have the original but if you do not then you will need to look for it and download it. If you have the original item then I would suggest downloading the recolour, but if you do not have the original and do not want the original then download the mesh version. Some meshes are no longer available (such as rhowc and AAS) so these have the mesh included and only come in the mesh version.

Mesh or HQ Recolour

There is a mod out there that makes your items a higher quality although the package files are much bigger. For this mod you need a more powerful computer and lots of people make their content HQ compatible. If, like me, you do not have the mod then you will not see any difference from what I see in my CAS (my thumbnails show how everything looks without the mod). For HQ compatible content I do a mesh version that is not HQ (but still looks great) and you can download these versions if you do not have the original mesh. However, in order for the recolour version to show up in CAS then I have to do a HQ-compatible version, which I always show in the file name. If you have the original then you can still download the HQ recolour version, but other than a bigger package size you will not notice any difference unless you have the HQ mod.

I hope this makes sense but please let me know if there is anything else that needs explaining. Sue xxx
