Q&A
Added 2024-01-24 03:56:31 +0000 UTCHey Patrons!
I’m overdue for a Q&A and was thinking about doing another. Ask your questions in this thread! Be quick because I plan to record in the next day or two. Sorry for the short notice but I just realized if I’m going to fit it in my production schedule I need to do it now.
UPDATE: Wow! You folks heeded the call. So many questions so fast! Let’s cap it here so I have some hope of getting through them all 😄 I’ll also try to answer them here if I don’t cover them in the video.

2024-02-01 23:21:18 +0000 UTCOh Please look at producing an orrery, I was looking at making a 3D print of one but much rather spend the effort making one from metal.

2024-02-01 23:08:29 +0000 UTCI followed your advice on the mill vice and have now also added a nice new mill! I know you've recommended complete endmill sets, etc in your tooling list, but for starters what would be a good first few cutters? A roughing end mill, shell mill, insert facing mill, a couple of HSS End mills, slot mill, fly cutter? I appreciate this is work dependent to some extent, but first few bits as a baseline kit?

2024-01-25 01:42:55 +0000 UTCHave you ever had to scrap a part (or project) after pouring tons of work into it? If so how did you know it was time to throw in the towel? And (from personal experience of mine) how do you stop yourself from “biting off more than you can chew” on a project? Like how do you judge if you will or won’t be able to do a project?

2024-01-25 01:41:26 +0000 UTCJust starting to learn the lathe from your instructional video series. Thank you!! Looking to purchase a PM lathe. Have a large working area. Which would you recommend as a "starter?" Thanks again for being here!

2024-01-24 23:54:57 +0000 UTCI asked this last year, :-), but I was curious as to whether you're thinking about doing any projects involving gear cutting?
