Cloning Wench and the Matriarch of Vanity (Alpha 0.1)

Cloning wenches appear as beautiful, charismatic, and charming women who look to be physically weak and helpless. Ranging in both race and age, some appear as mature human women, with others appearing as more youthful elves. Though infrequent, Cloning Wenches can also appear as Dryads, Freshwater Merfolk, Arancrians, or even Myth-Bloods. They are most commonly found in taverns and populated outposts, trying to seduce those they meet.

They frequently ask to join adventurers in their travels, stating that they happen to also be heading towards a party's given destination. While traveling with a party, Cloning Wenches frequently attempt to befriend and seduce those within it, all whilst hiding their magical abilities.

Though they put up a front of innocence, Cloning Wenches are cursed beings driven by their own vanity. While they are physically weak, these beings are able to curse other humanoids with their cloning curse that will quickly turn the target into a mirror image of the wench herself. A Cloning Wench wants nothing more than to alter the forms of a party of adventurers, turning each member into her beautiful (albeit unwilling) twin sisters, spreading her beauty through other, whether they like it or not.

Though adventurers unfortunate enough to fall victim to these beings retain their personalities, often attempting to resume their adventures in their new bodies, many an adventurer has been convicted of the crimes committed by a cloning wench after being forced to assume its form.

Though not fairies themselves, Cloning wenches are notably the creation of an incredibly powerful and ancient fairy known as the Matriarch of Vanity. Cloning Wenches created by the Matriarch of Vanity are touched by her gift, gaining the ability to wield mental magics that may allow them to catch others off guard or allow them to hold their own in a fight.

Abilities:

Racial Variety: The Cloning Wench has the racial abilities and benefits of the race it appears to be (Most often Human or Elf, though Cloning Wenches can appear as any race)

Matriarch's Gift:  The Cloning Wench knows up to three spells from the Esper spell list with a total MP cost no greater than 20.

Unassuming Temptress: When making a subtlety roll to hide its true intentions or to appear weaker than it really is, a Cloning Wench may roll twice, using the greater result.

Shielded Mind: Spells and abilities are incapable of detecting the thoughts of the Cloning Wench. If an effect would detect if a Cloning Wench is lying, such effect will state that the Cloning Wench is always speaking truthfully.

Delightful Wink: As a one-handed action, the Cloning Wench empowers itself with magic of the Matriarch of Vanity, winking at a creature within 7 spaces that can see it. That creature must roll 1d6, adding their resolve. If the total is less than 10, that creature becomes charmed by the Cloning Wench until the end of the Cloning Wench's next turn. While Charmed this way, that creature cannot move away from the Cloning Wench or target it with attacks or spells.

Cloning Kiss:  As a two-handed action, the Cloning Wench attempts to kiss a creature on an adjacent space, using 1d12 as an accuracy dice. On a hit, a creature must roll 1d6, adding their resolve. If that creature is charmed, they receive a -3 penalty to this roll. On a roll of 11 or greater, this kiss has no effect. On a roll of 10 or less, the target contracts the Cloning Curse.

The Cloning Curse:  At the beginning of every minute, a cursed creature's natural Strength, Defense, and Physicality (not accounting for bonuses from equipment) are reduced by -1 as that creature's features begin to slim down and change, becoming noticeably more dainty and feminine. Each of these stats stop reducing once Strength has reached 3, Defense has reached 3, and Physicality has reached -3. Once these stat changes have been completed, the cursed creature's body, face, and voice become identical to that of the cloning wench and the curse is considered removed. The creature becomes female if it wasn't already. Additionally, It's race becomes that of the Cloning Wench. A ritual of Purification can be used to remove this curse whilst it is still underway, but once the curse has run its course, its effects can only be removed through the work of a god or demigod. A little-known fact by some keen adventurers is that by targeting a creature afflicted with this curse with a spell capable of replenishing one's will such as Soothe or Calm Soul, the progression of this curse is paused for one hour.

The Matriarch of Vanity

The Matriarch Of Vanity is an enormous Fairy that takes the form of a gorgeous butterfly-winged woman wielding a crystalline hand mirror. She aims to make the world as beautiful as possible, spreading her influence through Cloning Wenches. While this being could easily fulfill her goal if she was more proactive, she is usually too busy fawning over her own reflection. When adventurers stumble upon her flowery lair within the depths of the Midnight Grove, she often chooses to turn these unfortunate few into Cloning Wenches as to allow them to fulfill her ambitions for her.

While the Matriarch of Vanity is a member of the Five Fae of Legend, the five ancient fairies whose very existence caused the growth of the Midnight Grove, due to her all-encompassing narcissism, she hasn't spoken to another member of the Five Fae in over three-hundred years.

While this ancient fairy's true name has been lost to the ages, even forgotten to herself, when interacting with cloning wenches or fairies within her domain, she will only accept being referred to as "beauty incarnate" whenever she is mentioned.

As a member of the Five Fae of Legend, the transformative properties of the Midnight Grove within a mile of Matriarch of Vanities domain are heightened. When within this radius for over an hour, a creature gains the Vain personality trait which remains until that creature exists the Midnight Grove. However, if such a creature is transformed by the magic of a Cloning Wench or the Matriarch herself, this traits becomes a permanent fixture of that creature's mind.

It is said that the Matriarch of Vanity's mirror can be used to duplicate any inorganic object, making it the desire of many foolish adventurers, though none have been able to retrieve it.

Corrupting Influence: Will-replenishing effects cannot be used to pause the progression of the Cloning Curse as long as a cursed creature is within one mile of the Matriarch of Vanity. Additionally, if a creature afflicted with the Cloning Curse allows the curse to run its course while that creature is within one mile of the Matriarch of Vanity, in addition to that creature's bodying being transformed, their mind is erased, being replaced with a copy of that of the Cloning Wench, including its personality, memories, etc.

Beguiling Wink: (25 MP) As a Two-handed action, the Matriarch empowers itself with ancient magics, winking at a creature within 7 spaces that can see it. That creature must roll 1d6, adding their resolve. If the total is less than 16, that creature becomes hypnotized by the Matriarch of Vanity until the end of the Matriarch's next turn. Fae-Wind Whip: As a two-handed action, the Matriarch of Vanity attacks a creature using its's Fae-Wind Whip. This Whip has a range of 1-5, it has accuracy dice of 1d12, and it has damage dice of 2d8 Wind + 2d8 Psychic + Mind. If a creature is hit by this whip, the Matriarch of Vanity may move that creature up to three spaces in any one direction.

Dull Senses: (50 MP) As a three-handed action, the Matriarch of Vanity emanates a glittering aura of sweet-smelling pollen, dulling the senses of those within. All other creatures within 6 spaces of the Matriarch of Vanity receive a -2 penalty to their Mind, Resolve, Awareness, and Knowledge until the beginning of the Matriarch of Vanity's next turn.

Summon Wenches:  (50 MP) As a three handed action, the Matriarch of Vanity summons 1d4 Cloning wenches within 6 spaces of it.

Wave Of Corrupting Vanity: (100 MP) As a five-handed action,  the Matriarch of Vanity  exhales a sweet smelling mist in a 20-space line that is 3 spaces wide. Each creature in this line that isn't a cloning wench must roll 1d8, adding their resolve. If the total result is 18 or greater, that creature sustains 6d8 + mind psychic damage. If a creature's resolve roll is 17 or less, they sustain 12d8 psychic damage and is afflicted with the The Curse of Corrupting Vanity. If a creature's Will is reduced to 0 as a result of this effect, that creature's mind is overwritten, that creature becomes female if they aren't already, and they become a Cloning Wench under the Matriarch of Vanity's control.

The Curse of Corrupting Vanity: Among one of the most dangerous curses in the realm, The Curse of Corrupting Vanity quickly turns all but the most resolute creatures into cloning wenches. Upon being afflicted with this curse, a creature becomes female if they aren't already. At the beginning of a Cursed Creature's turn, that creature must roll 1d8, adding their resolve. If a creature's rolls a total of 18 or more this way three times, the curse ends, though the creature remains female. If the total result is 17 or less, that creature gains the Vain personality trait and skips their turn, using their actions to admire their own beauty. Each subsequent time this roll is failed after the first fail, in addition to gaining an additional instance of the Vain personality trait, that creature loses one of their non-Vain personality traits. When a creature afflicted with this curse has no Personality traits other than Vain, their mind is completely overtaken with corrupting vanity, erasing all prior memory. That creature becomes a Cloning Wench completely loyal to the Matriarch of Vanity. When this creature is still cursed, a Purify spell can be used to end it, though any changes to that creature's personality remain. If this curse funs its course, converting a creature into a Cloning Wench, this transformation can only be undone by the work of a god, demigod, or a member of the Five Fae of Legend.
