Status Update #21

This week wasn't too interesting, at least not on paper. We've been posing and playing with some light effects and blooming, and then some more posing. While the scenes were being posed and rendered, we also worked on SFX. Footsteps, clothing, little skin touches and some ambience. And doors. Can't forget about doors. SFX work can get a bit dreary sometimes, but it's also fun and adds to the immersive feeling we want to create.
Render and SFX grind all week, basically. The bread and butter of the game.
Next week we'll be dabbling in some animations again, and continuing work on the screenplay for a couple of scenes. That's the fun part of planning and scripting content: when we get to be creative and imaginative. That is until we start to actually work on the renders for the scenes, at which point reality might force some compromises... Unless it's about the toaster of course. No compromises there.

2025-02-05 16:14:18 +0000 UTCDefinitely similar to 0.5 in size and content. We were strongly considering the shorter updates before 0.6, as 0.6 was also going to be in the smaller update category. But it took longer than expected and post update it's clear that majority want more per update than just update frequency, even if the end result would be the same in the long run. 0.5 has been the longest update so far, and it had 3 chapters of Summer Heat in it. 0.6 was roughly the size of one with a different focus and 0.7 is going to be about 3 chapters again. The chapter lengths also vary a lot, from 600 to over 1000 renders. We'll see the overall opinion after 0.7 and see what to focus on when it comes to update sizes. :)

2025-02-03 08:38:51 +0000 UTCI do remember Rob and Npx saying something about getting this new update out in 4 to 6 months and we are right close to the end of that window now but they have been making more renders per week then ever before and I think that's a great sign. Also they might have added a little more content then they planned at first so that might be making it take a little longer than expected too. My Spidey-Sense is telling me they are getting close to the finish line. They just gave us a preview render where Ms Hills is spraying us in the face with some kind of liquid. That's gotta mean the release is getting close! (Of the game, not Ms Hill's release ๐) I think we all need to just relax and trust that they are getting close to the finish line. This update sounds like it will be a really sweet one. With more lewd scenes with more girls and animations and naked boobies than ever before! ๐ The extra wait time will be totally worth it!

I saw one AVN where the first sex scene she had a jungle down there, I mean it was wild but the scene was still pretty hot. Same dev in his previous outing actually had it so at the very start, you could select the pubic hair the main LI would have. Back when I was in school, the first one I ever saw in the flesh, she had an afro bush and had it shaved into the shape of a heart! ๐ I was about 13/14 at the time and was disappointed by every bush I saw since ๐คฃ

2025-02-02 16:55:15 +0000 UTCDepends, the last update had 10 months of development time, was finished in August but had fewer renders than at this point in time now. The previous one took 11 months of development time and twice as many renders as now. As of now we had 21 progress updates since Friday, with the last two updates before 0.5 in October 2023 and 0.6 I'm august 2024, we had around 40 progress updates before release. If the developers say the new update will come at the end of April, that would be 8 months after 0.6, which would be absolutely okay for a high-quality game like Summer Heat. A 12 months waiting time would also be okay but maybe wouldn't be the best for the developers himself with the support they are getting, for me personally between 6 and 8 months is probably the best time to drop a new update with enough playing time but maybe others have different opinions on that.

Usually, whenever I download a new game, first things I do: Switch on rollback, turn on skip unseen text, decrease textbox opacity to zero and turn off music! This is the exception to the rule, the music in SH isn't on all the time but it comes in at certain points and is used for dramatic effect and it does it really well. At times, it's almost like watching a film with the way they use music and sound. Just another thing brilliantly done that makes SH stand out from the rest!

If most of the girls are shaved bare, you'd expect to have a couple of well trimmed landing strips and perhaps even the odd one who is less well maintained. That said, the game needs to appeal to the majority and as we see with the polls, every one has their own favourite girl so whilst variety is realism and realism is usually good, they don't want to alienate any of the majority who could have any of the main girls as their favourite girl

I know Helen doesn't shave anywhere but that would be more of a punishment for you. Embarrassing sounds and bad music just distract me from the gaming experience. But with you it's different. You put so much effort into the SFX and it shows. It supports your game perfectly and underlines the situations in the game so well that the experience is simply brilliant. For that and for all the little things you do (I'll just say toasters and footsteps) I just want to say thank you. In the end, these things form an overall experience that is simply great at SH.
