0.7 Status Update #9

We've had the first snowfall of the year today! Winter is almost here. Meanwhile, work on Summer Heat continues. Plenty of posing, some outfit testing for a future scene, working on some custom textures and painting normal maps.
We strive to have a natural progression when it comes to clothing and outfits, little changes here and there depending on the situation and time. And we've built quite a wardrobe by now so it is getting easier and easier to mix the clothes for the girls. But the easiest part is ahead, when there won't be any clothing at all.
This weekend we'll start post-processing and coding some scenes in.

We've been thinking about continuing the monthly specials this month. We originally started them due to a demand for custom renders and they were a good middle ground, offering a little bit of extra content for everyone. The only downside is that they take a bit of time each month. So we thought we'd ask you: should we continue creating monthly specials again, yay or nay?
We're also thinking of posting more work-in-progress images of the girls. Things from the design workbench between the updates, like outfit ideas and random test renders. Is that something you'd be interested in seeing?
Sophie also decided to dress up for Halloween this year.

I'm not too fussed about the monthly specials, but then I think I joined after they stopped so I don't really know what I'm missing. My view is that if you're doing them anyway, because I know some artists enjoy doing them, then go right ahead but for me, if it detracts from the main project, I wouldn't miss them. That said, there are many people who have been patrons far longer than I have so I feel their vote should carry more weight and if they would like to see them back, who am I to argue. Workbench snippets and previews could well be a happy medium though. I've found myself proper intrigued by your devlogs and curious about what goes on behind the scenes because of them so I'd love to see things like that and where that snippet is a preview of an upcoming scene, that could perhaps serve as a "special" also. Either way, I'm happy if you guys are happy. Keep up the great work, stay warm and if you did have to venture out in the snow, stay safe on the roads!

2024-11-02 19:06:56 +0000 UTCI really like the monthly renders so it'd be fun to see them again. Maybe to save time you can not worry about coming up with a fancy theme or message every tIme. Just a render of a pretty girl. Oh, and another great idea would be only use main girls and side girls in the polls who have been naked in game already. That way you can save a lot of time not dealing with pesky clothes issues while posing and who needs to spend hours finding the perfect outfit for your girl when she can just pose in the nude! π

If you two want to still do them, maybe limit them to once every two months or something like that. OR....you could put the special renders in the game as hidden renders! Either way no harm no foul. Getting a sneak peek at works in progress would also be awesome! It's always nice to see what you two are thinking about during development. I know whatever you guys do will be great, so have a nice weekend you too!!

So a Mix of new render and render from the Development would be a good compromise, or what do you think about?

It doesn't have to spoil anything, but it can also let us followers speculate on what will happen in the upcoming update. In progress, test renders sounds very interesting too. I'd go for that option personally. At the end of the day, the monthly specials take time away from working on the actual update, and into something else that's more optional. Previews and workbench stuff don't.

Yeeeaah, give me all the outfits π! As for the question, I'll say. Yay, because it's one of the things I come to love and look forward to with NFG. AND I LOVE collecting my renders π₯°. How about instead of monthly renders, you guys just release renders whenever you're free or feel like it? And when you do it, just let us know and bring out that poll π. A little more balanced. But if it helps I'd say don't worry about skipping a month if you both feel it would take longer to make than you'd like :) I would also definitely be interested in behind the scenes/work-in-progress images so long as they are like you said, from previous updates/tests (so they don't spoil anything). If it saves some time ignore the clothing :D To be honest, rn I'm more interested in the 'design workbench'... Even though I have no clue what I'm seeing probaly. Still, would like to see sth from time to time. However as always, thanks for the update, stay safe and fine.

That said, perhaps a balance could be struck by posting sneak peek renders of the next update instead? That way the fans get renders to enjoy without adding to the time spent between updates. Just a thought.
