0.6 Status Update #35

This week we've mostly been waiting for renders and animation frames to come out of the oven. We did some fixes here and there on the freshly baked renders, but nothing wild. A couple of animation edits remain, especially on a kissing animation. We got two of them in 0.6 and one of them has been hard to get right. Instead of making the animation loop, we'll try a non-looping version this weekend and see if that does the trick.
We also recorded some of our own SFX. Summer Heat will never be the same after these wood handling sound effects! Well, except for those who just mute the game from the start...
We spent some time scripting and thinking of poll options for 0.7. We're a bit unsure about how to proceed with the updates in terms of content. In the beginning we had very loose endings, whereas 0.5 and 0.6 have had more of a "designated ending" that we've worked towards. We'll most likely try the looser approach again for the next update.
Next week there will be a preview of 0.6, featuring Sophie.
Other news
We're making some little changes to our Discord and Patreon page. We're planning a new Patreon support tier as well, which will be dubbed the tip jar or Fan tier for $1.
Robison also coded a little productivity app which we'll be using for the next cycle to help us track our renders more accurately. We'll be including the data in the status updates for those who like numbers.

You guys put so much effort into the sound. It makes me want to try it out. I'll test it as soon as the next episode is available and report back. And let's see how the game turns out...now it's interrupted.

Of course, I feel like an idiot thinking who's Polish in the game? *forehead slap* Anyway, that's the absolute hardest part of creating a game. Finding the tiniest imperfection or finding a bug at the last minute...just brutal. Good luck and great job guys.

In fact, other than maybe a couple in some of the more popular AVNs (Jill and Sage in BaDiK and Victoria (Summer's Gone) there are none. My personal preference and some might disagree. But Mia (maybe Sophie too) are the reason I am so excited.

2024-06-29 04:49:49 +0000 UTCThere's a crowd willing to donate a buck for sure, as it often gets them access to the patreon feed, but hopefully it doesn't involve the usual suspects that more often than not select this amount. Constant reminders that they're "paying for this" and consistently offering up the ever important "update when" phrase usually go hand in hand with this group. Having a 2 or 3 dollar base tier usually weeds this crap out from what I've seen, but I guess we'll find out.
