The former rookie now certified veteran highflyer of Leviathan, Axolotl is coming into this Monthly Matchup bout as the majority betting favorite by the general media and fans in this Iron Woman Match. To be fair, she has shown great improvement throughout her Leviathan career through her impressive wins and devastating losses. Yet there is some that believes that the young blood Jellyfish could upset the now-certified ring vet. Still developing within the Leviathan developmental division, The Pond, Benta Nkosazana has been getting many nods from analysts to be a main event-caliber wrestler in the coming years if she keeps following the trajectory she’s currently on! This high praise comes from Benta’s imposing attitude she brings into every fight, her merciless nature while within the squared circle, and most importantly her never-will-be beat will that gets her the reputation she rightfully deserves!
So who will come out of this Monthly Matchup the victor?!? Stay tuned to fin- oh we’re just joking we’re not delaying this bout any longer! Let’s get to this fight!!!
From the very start of the ringing of the bell, a timer of a whole 60 minutes of combat officially began! Axolotl, the competitive and sportswoman she is, tried to offer a prematch handshake which caused the unexpected effect in pissing off Benta. She declared Axolotl unworthy to shake her hand little alone to be in the ring with her until she deemed so! The pink luchadora seeing this prompt rejection to be civil shrugged be Shotgun Dropkicking her foe in the chest! Although the forceful and sudden maneuver was pulled off without a hitch, it didn’t little except piss off Benta who huffed at this strike! Just like that, the match was on and oh boy it was going to be a show.
Instead of a back-and-forth duet of fighters, Axolotl mostly had “control” in the beginning phases of the match. She was avoiding all of Benta’s attacks while flying in and nailing attack after attack on her foe. Seemingly wearing down the Jellyfish, Axolotl would eventually be caught when the Luchadora attempted to do a body scissors takedown! With her legs wrapped around Benta’s waist, fans feared the worst that Axolotl would be punished but she would quickly prove that was not the case! Grabbing on the ropes, the masked fighter would change her leverage and SOMEHOW convert her current position to hitting a Sunset Powerbomb on Benta near one of the corners in the ring! Positioning Benta in prime real estate of Axolotl’s favorite part of the rings- THE ROPES! Climbing up onto the corner of the rings and turning to the crowd, the pink Luchadora was attempting to go for a high-risk but equally high-reward Moonsault! But just as Axolotl was about to attempt this move that could’ve gotten her the first point of the match, fans would be shocked to see Benta suddenly kip up to her feet!
In one swift motion while now on her feet, Benta would launch a large arch kick to the side of Axolotl’s legs. This would cause the masked wrestler to lose balance and painfully fall butt-first onto the top corner pad and end up in the Tree of Woe position. Most certainly now in a predicament, Axolotl fearfully looked up to see her opponent Benta staring down with her unapproving eyes. Clearly, her early efforts in wounding and wearing her clearly sturdy opponent were for nothing! Benta would haul Axolotl off the ropes and onto her shoulders for what looked like a Torture Rack position! Instead of simply walking her and Axolotl to the center of the ring, Benta would begin to go into a sprint before leaping a small but impressive distance off the ground before landing knees-first onto the mat! This maneuver would cause the poor Luchadora to go airborne while in Benta’s grasp before crashing back-first onto Jellyfish’s shoulders for her opponent’s finishing move; The Paralyzer! And that name was fitting as Axolotl slumped to the matt motionless as Benta claimed the first point of the match by only using ONE MOVE compared to Axolot’s several. It was clear to everyone at this point that it was going to be an uphill battle for their favorite Luchadora to even have a chance in this match…
It was even more evident of that as Benta would begin racking up the points from that point on, eventually going 4-0 while at the 30-minute-halfway mark. At this point, fans thought there was simply no way that Axolotl could come back…right? Well, even with everyone counting her out, Axolotl still had fight in her and she wasn’t going out like no chump. This is where Axolotl’s experience would really come into play as the Mexican woman strategized around Benta’s overaggressiveness and lack of knowledge of the wrestling rules to her advantage. When Axolotl was near the ropes, she decided she liked the scenery outside the ring a whole lot better. So the Luchadora rolled out of the ring to the annoyance of the Jellyfish who promptly followed suit. Instead of continuing the fight on the outside, Axolotl decided to mess with her opponent by going underneath the ring and making her opponent look for her. With her foe now hiding underneath the ring, Benta would annoyingly search around for this groundhog! But everywhere Benta looked, she found absolutely nothing. Until one ringside she lifted the cover of she received a stiff punch to the nose for! Seeing this, fans would soon see the humor of this situation and began laughing at this wack-a-mole scenario as Axolotl was quite playing with her foe.
Enraged, Benta really tuned up her efforts in finding Axolotl underneath the ring and ripping her head off when she caught her. At one point, Benta would lift the apron sheet and I thought momentarily she found Axolotl! Kicking first and asking questions later would soon bite Betna in the butt as she would end up kicking the ring steel supporters! Pissed off even further, Benta would hobble on one of her good legs before looking up and seeing Axolotl was now in the ring and next to the referee who was counting for something. Until it eventually dawned on Jellyfish that the referee was counting the Ring-Out disqualification on her. Quickly scrabbing and hobbling towards the side of the ring in the hope of rolling back into the ring and breaking the count- it was already too late and Axolotl was awarded with her first point of the match! Once Benta was in the ring, she was furious and couldn’t handle the fact she gave up a point like that and shoved the referee! But in turn, she clearly broke the rule of a combatant putting their hands on a referee and therefore he disqualified her for that and awarded a second point to Axolotl!
Fuming like there was no tomorrow, Benta would curse the referee out in her native tongue without realizing the fight was still going on! Therefore, was letting her guard down! As Axolotl would quickly rush her and get her in a headlock while simultaneously running towards the ropes! Running up and off the ropes, Axolotl would beautifully execute and hit a Tornado Bulldog on Benta which subdued her enough to get her third point! With the score now being 4-3 in Jellyfish’s favor, will Axolotl be able to pull off the comeback?!? Or will Benta squash this highflyer and her games once and for all?!?
As skip ahead in time while there are approximately only two minutes left on the clock, both fighters would seem to be tied both at 5-5! It was apparent that both Jellyfish and Axolotl were exhausted beyond belief. Benta currently had Axolotl in a tight and deadly Sharpshooter and was on the cusp of coaxing a submission out of her foe. But in seconds quickly chewing away at what little time was left, Benta desperately tried digging deep and really going the extra mile in getting her opponent to give in. But as we stated before, Axolotl was no quitter and was done being a stepping stone for those to surpass her! She was going to throw her hat- well mask in the circle for being a credible threat in this league. So with a grimace on her face, Axolotl crawled and scraped her way closer and closer to the ropes. With 30 seconds left on the clock, fans began to get to their feet and count down the remaining time in anticipation to see what would happen.
Once Axolotl got possession of the ropes, she didn’t intend to use them as a way to break the submission- no, she was going to use these to switch the script and potentially win this whole match! Like the trick she did before on Benta, Axolotl would use her leverage in twisting herself and thus messing with Benta’s current positon and with several twists and turns later- Axolotl would somehow get her foe on her back, her shoulders pinned to the mat, and her legs tucked underneath the Luchadora’s arms! As the audience members counted down the remaining time left, the referee smacked his hand to the mat for the 1-2-...3! And not a second later, the timer for the match would loudly ring signally at the end of this bout and declare Axolotl as the ultimate undisputed winner! Fans were in an uproar of happiness while Jellyfish was in an uproar of pure fury. She once more shoved the referee out of anger before stomping her way out of the ring. And oh for the fan favorite Axolotl- she was face-first in the mat utterly exhausted to stand up and accept an arm raise for a victory celebration. So as a compromise to show her appreciation for everyone’s support of her, she simply raised a hand and gave a thumbs up!
