I Hope everyone had a great weekend. Apparently there's a hurricane where I am. So far nothing but rain. But still.
Here's some progress shots and some pieces I've made recently that I haven't shared.
Here's my prompt submission! Its funny looking at the little study and the bigger painting side by side. The study looks like a younger version of the bigger one.

I call her "Seduction and Chaos" I've been working on her for an intro to drawing bad art lesson I'm doing. Its a Surrealist-centric lesson, and I'll be trying to get it out this coming week. But I don't think I shared any pictures of her along the process.

I mentioned before that I've been getting frustrated with how long my process takes me to finish a painting. These little alla prima studies have really been helpful in dealing with that. When I get the hankering to get a painting in, I just bust one out.
Cha Cha Cha
This one came from a composition idea I had. I could imagine her moving her shoulder and saying "cha cha cha." I think I'm going to use this one in the next Art Life and Lives video, which I'm also trying to get out next week.

Edvard Munch Study
I did a study of Edvard Munch's the Scream. I did one a few years ago. For this one my goal was to keep the colors of the original, but I used a picture of a real life mummy that was preserved in the fetal position as the reference for the main figure. It's a picture that may have influenced munch when he painted the original scream. I was compelled to do this experimental study after watching the film Oppenheimer.

I just looked up and realized I have another one that I wanted to share but I don't have a picture of it. So I'll have to wait on that one for now.
Goodnight sweeties. Have fun!
