I've also gotten a temporary 180 day business visa in the past. it's more straightforward than you'd imagine, but also given that you're familiar with Japanese bureaucratic BS (like the copyright/physical media distribution shenanigans), it's convoluted and can require lots of paperwork. straightforward paperwork! but lots of it. I'll also be living in Kyoto from next year, and somewhere at the back of my mind I've been thinking "hey I should see if Japanalysis wants a boots-on-the-ground or b-roll sort of thing" because I love the channel, then I saw that question in this video. lmk!
