Community post #2: on Iulius and love

Alice: This post is about Iulius in general, with some specific references about DnD Iulius! ヽ(・∀・)ノ

This time, we'll talk about love. Love is extremely important to Iulius, both as a person and as a character. He likes to be in a relationship, to be happy with someone who loves him back, and he ultimately desires to have a quiet and happy life with his special one. When Iulius falls in love, he falls hard and intensely.

Unfortunately for him, this creates a conflict with his noble status: Iulius is supposed to marry someone not out of love, but for a political arrangement. This is why he focused so much on his studies and his professional career: it was a way to avoid the "marriage talk" with his parents (in the DnD setting).

When I created him, I knew that he was pan and demi and that he was in the closet. I wanted to explore this theme with him, and I wanted to have a romance with a PC/NPC in the campaign: being in a "forbidden" relationship with someone forces Iulius out of his shell and makes him revaluate his life and his beliefs. I never imagined, at the time, that I'd ship him with a former slave (hello Moria!), but it was definitely a lot of fun and it really made Iulius grow as a person.

When he's in a relationship, Iulius is a very romatic and passionate partner. He wants his partner to feel loved and has no problem adressing his feelings directly. Iulius expresses his love both with words and actions: during the campaign he composed a poem for Moria and surprised him with a secret date, as well as being the first one who said the word "love" out loud while talking about their feelings.

I plan to publish a post like this about Moria/Marcus too, during January. Would you like it? Tell me what you think in the comments! ヾ(^∇^)
