Should you turn green (wet) wood?

Friends:

The fun never stops around here. Yesterday, my furnace went out. Apparently, running a furnace in the middle of a wood shop is a sub-optimal situation. It's just a tiny sensor that blew, but the HVAC dude didn't have it and can't get it until Monday (of course). So, we've got a roaring fire, a couple of space heaters and a lot of family togetherness. Seriously, stuff like this really does bring you together. It hasn't been so bad.

This week, I'm doing a video on why you might turn green wood on your lathe. As a furniture-maker, I'm so used to using dried wood that I didn't even attempt green wood for months after I got my lathe. I just didn't see the point. Then I tried it. Wow. It's a whole new world when you go straight from the log to the bowl.

This is part of my ongoing efforts to promote the book, which is selling decently and I've been happy with my progress.

If you've read the book, or even part of it, I would REALLY appreciate a review. Reviews drive sales and help my climb up the Amazon algorithm. They just matter a ton.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Stay warm. Hug your family.
