I actually really like that Cai’er went to hurt Yang Wenzhao for Haochen because outside of showing us how she feels for him, it’s also great characterization. We now know that Cai’er isn’t normal both in her power level (she beat him like it was nothing) ,her worldview (any rational person wouldn’t have done that) and her position (nobody from her temple even tried to stop her). It sets her apart from the more bland female characters in other shows.
