As I mentioned, I wanted to discuss on what the scope of project impact is gonna be. I've slowly introduced the ai, the combat, but I really didn't tackle on the loop, and what the game was gonna be inspired on.
So here is the video mentioning those things!
It all started when I helped work on the Wanderer's heart mod that had ship mechanics, crew recruitment and boarding which were very similar to the Mount and Blade Series which I really love.
Some further details on the core loop, here are some of the main features and modes:
Character Creation:
Includes, character class, combat styles and Character traits,
Crew Recruitment and Management:
Choose a faction, each faction will have two different orientations: a pirate based faction or a naval based faction,
choosing a pirate based factions give you access to jobs like raiding, smuggling, kidnap and ransom
while a naval based faction gives you access to jobs like bountyhunting, fort defense, and rescue missions
You can hire crew, and buy goods to sustain them
Ship Ownership:
Purchase a ship that affects travel speed, crew size and storage capacity.
Currently these are the features that have been coded into the game
There's definitely more I plan to make soon so I hope you guys look forward to that, as for a downloadable demo, there's a buttload of things like UI, tutorials, and blocking volumes I need to add in first before I post something, but rest assured that it is being constantly worked on.
Apologies for the time it takes to upload updates or even just vids, I'm doing all this solo currently, no publishers or investors yet, although I'm working on that bit, and it really takes a while. There's a level of polish and bug fixing needed before even considering that, so that's what consumes most of my time. I'm still not sure the best ways to approach anyone from where I am yet, although I'm working on that and listening to some advice from other tenured people as well.
