I wouldn't necessarily say that this has burnt me out but I do prefer to complete projects quickly so I can move onto the next thing I have planned. I've had a bunch of ideas for shorter animations that I couldn't work on cause 'Sweet Tooth' has been my ball and chain for a while haha. If I do something of this scale again I'm definitely gonna need an assistant animator to share the workload

I love and respect the time that animators put into their animations including anime, thanks for going into depth with the reply!!

2021-06-17 09:16:49 +0000 UTCSo this is by far my longest animation, about twice as long as anything else I've ever done. I don't think I'll do another project of this scale again unless I have help from other animators. As a rule of thumb, one min of animation takes roughly one month of work. So two minutes of animation with two fully animated characters = about 4 months of work, which makes sense since I started this project in March. For future animations I wanna focus on shorter concepts I can get out faster, things like 10-40 second clips, maybe looping animations too. I think it's also more benefitial for experience and improvement to work on smaller more focused things that can vary greatly from one another rather than one big drawn out piece that takes forever, if that makes sense

Since you have now done it the first time (the first time being a more lengthy one and clearly added more to this one than the others) you have gained more experience or does that rule not really apply to animatitons?
