Plot Hook: A Tale Already Written
Added 2022-03-03 21:38:35 +0000 UTCInspired by a set of prompts on r/Brewjammer (prescribe, vestige, and fairy tale), I came up with this plot hook. The prompts in that subreddit aren't intended to all be used in the same homebrew, but I like to try.
For this one, my brain immediately saw prescribe as pre-scribe, so something that was written before.
A vestige is something left over, so why not have the writing itself be the thing left over from...how about an ancient civilization? Stone tablets can last forever.
Now, fairy tales are often retellings of even older stories, with details added, changed, or left out. Sometimes they try to have a moral. The good and bad decisions of PCs can definitely be tales used to teach a lesson.
