K&F Concept Lens Mount Aperture De-Click

K&F Concept Lens Mount Aperture De-Click

Dissembling camera lens is always risky. I only did when the lens was otherwise useless (usually telephoto rings stuck). The old vintage lens are easier since they haven't been hyper microize like modern one. When the lens on my Cannon G9 stopped working, I bought a replacement lens assembly for $40 instead. I made a basic video of the swap in case I ever needed to do it again, its on TY. It apparently helped at least one person.

I haven't tried opening one of my lens yet. Even if I didn't make a video out of that it's something I would want to record every step of to have a guide of how to put it back together. So many moving parts in those! Thankfully all of my used lens have worked. Even that 18-55 AF lens, I found it at Goodwill for $6, it's only problem was that it was covered in candle wax for some reason. After scraping it all off of the mount area I was able to put it on and find I got a 90% discount on it! Which is going to be very handy for the new camera since that's a nice all-rounder range and I won't have to use the 18-55 that came with my D5300. So both camera's will always be at the ready.

Tech Tangents

"Oh, and its three grand" xD I've repaired a few of my handed down film lens in the past. Its always interesting to see how different manufactures did the same things very differently back in the 60's and 70's.
