This was supposed to go out yesterday but I had some delays.
So funny story about ordering the camera. It was supposed to be a pre-order where they don't charge me until they are ready to ship it. This camera is currently very desirable and people have been pre-ordering it for months. When I placed the order last night, they also charged me. I just assumed that the webpage was wrong and they were going to charge early for this camera. Well, this morning it was marked as shipped. So I guess the new camera is going to get here a LOT sooner than I realized. I was able to get some help from some people and was able to order the SSD I need for recording and a lens adapter to use my existing Nikon lenses on the new camera's MFT mount. So in theory, when the new camera gets here I should be able to start using it immediately.
It was also brought to my attention that my previous assumptions about using Google Drive for a backup were wrong and that you could upload ~30TB a month there. So I'm going to start doing that as one of my redundant backups because I already have a corporate google account for personal use. That will cut down the cost of long term backups by about 25% ($50) a month at the medium 4k quality compared to buying HDDs. The G-Drive price is fixed as well, so if I step up the quality later, that price savings gets even better.
