I want to try something new because it seems like I miss some really obvious stuff when doing research on videos. This is not a replacement for me to do research. I try my best to become as knowledgeable as possible/reasonable for every video I do. It's just sometimes I miss something that seems easy for some people find. So I'm going to let you know what the next video is, why I think it's cool, and what I do and do not know about it. If someone here happens to know something I'm missing or an interesting fact about it that I don't know I would love it if you could comment and let me know.
This is a Canon TP-8, a calculator with a built in dot-matrix thermal printer. I don't know what year it was released I'm hoping to find that on a date code inside. I've seen this calculator a few times so it seems to be somewhat common. It uses what seems to be standard paper, the TI-5025 seems similar and is likely what uses the paper I have there. I can find examples of other similar models, Canon TP-7, Casio HR8A-BK, Canon Pocketronic, and Sundstrand 330 PD.
The TP-8 I have here is in unknown condition as the battery compartment is full of exploded AA batteries. I plan on cleaning that out and using CLR on the contacts. I do have the manual for it in the box so we'll also take a look at that. I don't have the pouch that seems to be common for it.
