It's been a bit over four years since I lost my friend James, and I thought I'd tell a very, very wrong story.
It was a Thursday evening at Anthrocon, so people were hanging out in the various lounges since the con hadn't technically started yet. He calls Dutch and I over to play a game of Superfight with his friends. For those that don't know, it's a card game with a bunch of different decks of various themes and levels of adultness that you can add in for all sorts of weird combos.
I'm last to go, so I've got plenty of time to look at my cards and think about what I want to play as the other players come up with these fun combinations for their superhero.
I don't recall what the villain we had to defeat we could do. It doesn't matter, what does matter is the pair of cards I pick to fight him. I might be off on the wording for the second one, I am old after all, but the first card I know.
I play 'ped*phile' and 'whatever power you want'.
"I turn the villain into a child and molest them for justice."
Jame looks at all the other player's card combos and chuckles, "Looks like the ped*phile wins."
Rest in peace, James, I miss you.
