Added 2025-05-27 12:00:11 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to episode 8 of Vigilantes! HAHAHAHAHA wow you guys, this one was SO much fun! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! Captain Celebrity is so full of it but so much fun to watch! I hate to say it but...they're not exactly wrong in this portrayal of American celebrities :P And dang it, I want justice for Pamela!!! Next time is mom/fake girlfriend mayhem, should be interesting! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

AHHHH omg I love this so much, thank you for such a detailed and passionate comment!! đ„č You hit on literally everything I was screaming about tooâKoichiâs growth, the absolutely unhinged Captain Celebrity antics (the sparkle smile!! the Godzilla fight!! the chaotic English out of nowhere!! đ), and the way Makoto just effortlessly demolishes him while sipping her tea like itâs nothing, ICONIC. Honestly CC is such a hilarious disaster of a man, but I canât help loving how extra he is, and youâre so right that it makes Koichi shine even more as a real hero. Also YES Justice for Pamela forever!! đâš Iâm so glad you enjoyed my reaction and thanks for your support!!!

Itâs honestly impressive that Captain Celebrity has been 1 of the top 10 heroes in America especially when we know his competition includes people like the number 1 hero Star & Stripe. Itâs interesting to think about what rank Captain Celebrity is with what we saw of how easy it is for him to take down villains & being able to stay in the top 10 for 10 years I would guess heâs number 2 or 3. Also I bet he gets annoyed that 1 of All Mightâs protĂ©gĂ©s Star and Stripe is number 1 since my headcanon is that Captain Celebrity doesnât like AM because AM is the number 1 hero worldwide which is really funny to think about LMAO. Once again great reaction/thoughts & keep up the great work. :-) <3

Itâs awesome to see Koichi progressing with his quirk because he was not able to keep up with a motorcycle which could be up to 50/70 mph & I think a big part of this improvement is what Tensei taught him allowing him to go faster without as much risk. Captain Celebrity is insufferable but hilarious. I definitely dislike how he insults All Might with the all strength no style line so it makes a lot of sense that Koichi would not like him being a big AM fan along with the signature debacle. The way the guy on the motorcycle goes flying spinning around after Captain Celebrity punches him is hilarious. Also I love how the random English in the middle of all this Japanese voice acting brought in by Celebrity starts right at the start of the episode. I love how the infomercial I guess you would call It all about Captain Celebrity played alongside the news story is done by either an English speaking person or a Japanese VA who can speak English without an accent. Also of course itâs the most American & patriotic thing ever with all the stereotypes of a political ad itâs cool to learn the name of his quirk âflightâ through this alongside a very overt hint that he is all about image & popularity although itâs not surprising with that name LOL. Also itâs wild that he literally says sparkle when he smiles. I like how we get a gauge of Captain Celebrityâs strength with him lifting a big cruise ship which is very impressive but whatâs even crazier is the ship is even bigger in the manga. I love how in the know Knuckleduster is about a lot of stuff with him instantly telling us about the the mountain of scandals CC has which led to this journey to Japan. I feel bad for the commuter seeing Godzilla rampaging probably thinking âI just wanted to go to work & this happens why does life hate meâ I do not envy the life of a regular person in the MHA world LOL. Another negative of Captain Celebrity is that heâs all about policy & waiting for the press wanting them to see his heroics potentially putting people in danger. I love how Koichi is more of a hero than this guy not caring about any accolades & even making sure to save animals as well even though heâs just a vigilante also that dog is very cute. I canât believe his staff is mostly just there to be hype men for CC sometimes I think I would want that but honestly it would be overwhelming. I love how his team is having a rave & talking him up in English with a heavy Japanese accent while he kicks Godzillaâs ass itâs hilarious and that song in the background fits a conceited guy like him LOL. Also the Godzilla inspired villain is very fun as someone who read the manga I love that they used the Godzilla roar in this adaption. One thing you can say about CC is that he does save a lot of people with one big problem the collateral damage because you can say what you like about Endeavor at this point in time but on-the-job he is a hero however unlike the Captain Celebrity here he avoids as much collateral damage as he can & letâs be honest Endeavor would hate this guy LOL. Even though he did it in an insulting way wanting Koichi not to mess up his image I appreciate that CC gives him his due credit for saving Masahiko the Shiba Inu. Itâs so funny that when the building that Captain Celebrity damaged in the fight earlier is collapsing the 2 people who have not gotten out yet are a young woman & a sumo wrestler because it perfectly set up the joke of CC wanting to carry the girl because it looks better for the cameras & he likes women leaving Koichi to struggle with the bigger guy. The whole having cheerleaders & making a show out of the demolition is wild & I agree very American & with his reputation as a ladies man it makes a lot of sense. I like how Pop points out that a lot of heroes in Japan are like CC more entertainers than necessarily just heroes alongside the problems of heroes competing for popularity/caring about their images and when it comes the discussion of whether thatâs good or bad/what a hero should be like Iâm very much in the middle because itâs a big grey area since I think people who risk their lives as heroes should be able to make a living doing so & not all the heroes who try to be popular with entertainment aspects are doing it to be celebrities. But I also think hero society needs to change like I have said in comments before because popularity should not be a deciding factor like it is but I donât hate the people who are just living in this system. I want to point out that before her off screen & in the background character development Mt Lady was similar to CC especially in her 1st appearance and thatâs interesting with Knuckle saying Captain Celebrity needs some introspection after all those scandals and the lawsuit. Itâs hilarious that Kazuho was actually enjoying the show & talking about how she could take inspiration from it only to do a complete 180 once she realizes Makoto is involved. Also a little hypocritical that sheâs criticizing more sexual outfits as indecent when she doesnât think that & wears a short skirt herself and with her crush on Koichi would get flustered when he looked at her skirt. I love how right from the start of Captain Celebrityâs flirting with Makoto you could tell she never thought of what he wanted as a âdateâ it was always a way of helping out Pamela as well as just getting information because she just likes knowing the truth of things it speaks to her character that she was not falling for the Casanova act as Knuckle put it. Itâs wild that the nickname the press came up with for the Captain is Soaring Stallion & itâs definitely yikes but not surprising when he is inspired by American celebrities that his scandals all involve women with the implication his wife at least suspects him of cheating. I love how exasperated Pop is becoming with Koichiâs involvement with Makoto. I agree with you CC Is full of himself but seeing his pink and purple outfit for the date you have to admit he has style. I love how Makoto has absolutely no chill during the âdateâ Iâm pretty confident she planned on having Pamela call her on the date not necessarily to get evidence for the lawsuit but at least to try to get him to get his act together a little & Iâm sure her wanting to do that only increased once he was ignoring a bank robbery to play the ladies man. I love how Makoto has such a cheerful/causal look on her face while completely destroying this man with the knowledge his wife is aware that heâs still doing the same stuff in Japan. Also I will never get tired of when Japanese VAâs speak English I love the accent & itâs usually used in very Sonny ways I think this show does it the best 2nd only to JJBA. Itâs fantastic that as soon as heâs in trouble Captain Celebrity moves even faster with his quirk to resolve the bank robbery also I appreciate that the robber at least wanted to be eco-friendly when committing crimes LOL. Itâs ridiculous that his idea of damage control is taking very forced pictures with Koichi. I like how we were shown Makotoâs skill as a leader with the whole cheerleading thing making her taking command of Chrisâs Public image feel natural with her wanting to change how he is seen. The deadpan completely not understanding look on his face as Captain Celebrity says the most confused âwhatâ I have ever heard is the funniest fucking things I have ever seen in a show I have watched it was perfectly adapted from the manga to the anime with the voice acting/delivery LMAO itâs the best. I feel a little bad for CC going through this ridiculous tirade but he kind of deserves it. I like the punk aesthetic of those guys and girls. I do think it makes you ask the question what does Makoto think a Yankee is LOL. I like how the last scene gives a good impression of how strict Koichiâs mom is especially with what he says to Pop with that reaction/expression. Poor Kazuho getting freaked out over the idea of being Koichiâs girlfriend sheâs got a lot of anxiety/fearful when it comes to that especially as time goes on. It was great to see how much you loved/enjoyed this hilarious episode because I love it as well. I love Captain Celebrity as a character heâs great Japan certainly understand us Americans LMAO. Itâs awesome to see people loving this story & these characters. Considering his personality I definitely think he is jealous of All Might & most likely is imitating the classic AM laugh which is a little sad but funny. Also now that the episode is over I want to point out something interesting that while his quirk is called flight itâs not just that itâs superstrength, enhanced speed & probably good durability just saying it because we know abilities in MHA are not necessarily what they seem. Finally I donât think itâs a coincidence that this episode with a character Stain would be against is relatively soon after episode 6 with the Stain back story. Finally I forgot to say it earlier but Christopher Skyline is the perfect name for CC. Oh yeah and yes Justice for Pamela. I canât wait to see reaction to the next episode I think you will love it.
