Orb: On the Movements of the Earth 1x11 "Terror" - reaction & review
Added 2025-05-16 12:00:12 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to episode 11 of Orb!! OMG!!!!! I really REALLY did not want to watch the first few mins of this ep! That was rough! But what was even more rough was to watch our crew all plan what they'd do once they got away safely....only to get intercepted by Nowak!!! Good lord, he really had me going for a sec - I really thought he was just there by accident! I'm so scared to see what happens next! Enjoy! ~ MH

Ahhhhh just this once?!?! I saw the Bishop but had no clue what he was up to lol. Nowak's for real just like a regular old salaryman according to him lol. What on earth happened to the bishop?! I couldn't agree more, he's for real not following any of his own rules. Yeah you can see the different levels in the two monks like you said. Yeah those ending scenes were just so good! The real terror was in that post bar scene for sure lol. Uggghhhh!!

I hope since it ended there that maybe next episode will not be what we expect. I hope because my stomach is churning right now. This is not funny 😖

2025-05-18 05:19:27 +0000 UTCIt’s simple really: sometimes your Patreon wages have to be earned. NO SKIPPING. Everyone has days at work where they aren’t looking forward to everything. :D Okay enough teasing - but you did see the Bishop last episode when he addressed all the inquisitors in training before these two went to see Nowak. Comparing him to an office worker is probably a good way to put it - but you asked earlier how he can “flip the switch” - I imagine he has to. Otherwise the human part of him would get in the way of his effectiveness. It’s probably similar to the issue some soldiers have coming home after being in combat. Okay, the Bishop studied astronomy and… something happened, did it? Now the plot thickens… is that in line with what we’re dealing with presently? There are points in this particular plot that shine a light on some very real flaws in what most people would term “organized religion,” and it’s nearly impossible to comment on them without a bit of theological discussion but let’s review them: The Bishop is having people tortured for views that counter geocentrism. The Church is more concerned about their funding to keep functioning than their actual subjects. And the Bishop has a son which isn’t revealed to the public. The simple way to point out the flaws in this (mist are obvious), but there’s a lot of instruction in that scripture about forgiveness and mercy towards others who oppose you, yet I don’t see any of that here. I don’t wish to preach at anyone, but let’s just take those two contradicting theorems and chew the fat on our own. Even the two trainees had different levels of how far they were willing to go in the torture session. One was willing to use the thumb screw and one couldn’t handle it - it’s sensible that not everyone is cut out for this job. Also they didn’t show a whole lot, they do a lot more implication. And of course there’s the bar scene at the end where what seems like a regular night out ends up having so many layers under it, but in reality it’s being played off because all of the voice actors are so good at it. I was kind of like you at the end, thinking “did they really just get out of that unscathed?” The title of this episode is Terror, but that bar scene was far more nerve wracking than any torture scene. And the most chilling line in the episode is just a simple question: “Hey, you two, got a moment?” Some weeks you’re not allowed to have nice things. 👀
