Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5 Ep 21 "The Mystery of King Crimson / The Mystery of Emperor Crimson" - reaction & review

Google Drive Link posted under description!

Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo Part 5, episode 21!!  WOW you guys, so King Crimson is WILD!!!
That's a pretty OP ability, but even here we see there are at least some limitations like range, duration, etc.  I have no idea what happened to Bruno but I have some theories....also I guess he's alive???  Something's definitely wrong though!  He's still being an MVP though, like dang, he was bleeding out and still found ways to save Trish!  The ending scene where everyone has to decide was SO touching....Abbachio's reasoning was so incredibly sweet despite how salty he usually is.
Of course Mista went along cause he's the best <3  Fugo's really acting on cold logic here which I get, even though I don't agree, but I think after some time he'll come around and show up to help his friends too!  And Narancia, omg!!!!  My little baby, screaming and swimming his way to the boat.....ahhhhhh!!!!!  I love my little man so much!  So they're officially fugitives in the worst way possible, wow!!!!  Great ep!  Can't wait for more!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Absolutely, I love fanfics!!!! I don't think I have an actual a03 account even though I'm on there a lot lol, I need to make one so I can comment :) Thank you so much for sharing!!! I'm always down for more Fugo content ever since reading Purple Haze Feedback!!!!

Can I link my Fugo ficlet (short fic) oneshot here? Pls. (Warning: he hates Giorno most (no, he doesn’t); though he hates himself - Fugo - even more. (No, he doesn’t.) (He's not Kakyoin (good thing he doesn’t know him, he would loathe him the most, being who he is... (no, he wouldn't.) It's the duality of man. One can see that in the Stand. No spoilers for you in the fic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36303295 this fic is... difficult for me, because Fugo is no Kakyoin/Polnareff/Caesar/Reimi/Joseph/Josuke/Okuyasu/Trish/Mista/Sherry/Jolyne/Suzie Q/Emporio/Jonathan/Pucchi (I can see through their eyes pronto sometimes... maybe...), so I can barely, Fugo, but I wanna... Fugo... slightly. Would you be so kind as to comment someday there for me, with some concrit? On there...

Hahaha I've got to imagine that planning batches knowing what's coming in each ep must be a real treat!!! ^_^ Right, King Crimson was the reason why all those time skips were happening with the water and chocolate and whatnot. That's actually a really good example, I know it can be a bit hard to follow - I'm told it will make more sense over time! Out of body experience.....yeah pretty much :/ Right, I'm not sure what's going on with Bruno exactly, but I can take some guesses based on what they've shown us. That's the thing, Trish might have some personal motivation for taking this guy down now, right? Who knows what her Stand is, it could be really useful! The ending was so bittersweet!!!! I agree that Abbachio's reaction was just surprisingly sweet and tender. Mista's the best so of course he went lol. And Narancia, omg my sweet boy! I really really hope they don't use Fugo to track the others down, but it would be juicy!!! I get where Fugo's coming from, sad as their parting was. OMG I was literally JUST thinking of how Bruno is the new Reimi :O Oh yeah, I'll be skipping the clip show, thanks! Hahaha I made sure to gorge on lots of comfort food after this one!!!!

Thank YOU for always looking at my fanart. I appreciate it. I am very pleased that you enjoy the fanart.🥰

This is what I desperately needed. Aw I can’t believe it was his birthday Mista! 🔫 🥳 🎂 🎉 lol I would do the same. They must really like him. They never give me the time of day 😭 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 Man I wish that was canon as well. :( lol Joseph JoeSTAR bringing in the holiday spirit I love it! He does look like he’s working the pole. Definitely something I could see Mel doing haha 😂 Bruno is of course the mom Giorno never had. Dio should be shook. Don’t mess with his bundles of nuisances. Oof that would have been amazing! That last one pulled the heartstrings. Thank you so much for always sharing. This really means a lot. 🥹

Hi Spadeas! :) Ohhhhhhhhh that's so true, I didn't even catch the zipper metaphor there, whoooaaaaa!!! He's UNCOVERING things but UNZIPPING them too :O :O :O OMG the walking away from the light too, that makes even more sense now! Interesting that this power is very linked to the boss' personality, I'll be curious to know more. Yeah the editing analogy helped me a lot! It's the ultimate protective power for sure. Ahhhhh ok, someone suggested that to me after and I was like ohhhhh it does make more sense that it was Giorno's ability that caused all the stuff we saw. Didn't he turn money into a butterfly the very first time we saw his ability lol? Ohhhhh he gave life to something that didn't have life, OHHHHHHHHH!!! Ok that just clicked for me just now! I can't wait for the new intro, and I'm excited that there's 3 different versions! Ooohhhhh sounds like I'll have to pay lots of attention in the intro! Ahhh that's too bad about spoiling Trish's Stand, but I'll see it eventually anyway!!! Thanks for all the info!

Melissa Moore

That's the thing, I totally get it. And although I don't agree with his whole assessment of the situation because I know Bruno's motivations a bit better, I can't blame Fugo for his reasoning here either! I personally think he'll come around :)

Melissa Moore

Poor Manny, don't cry. The next episodes are definitely becoming funnier and not as emotional (for now). but of course it all remains very bizarre. I linked some funny fanart in my post, which will hopefully cheer you up. :)

Leonie2003

Okay I have so many questions but I also can’t bring myself to try and come up with answers right now. That was intense and the last bit was too emotional. I didn’t even realize I was crying till I saw Bruno’s face when Narnar was swimming after them. Darn it why couldn’t we have three episodes this week?! I don’t want to think about it but something is definitely up with Bruno. I DONT WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT. But you’re probably right but we’ll remedy that situation. I can’t breathe right now. These episodes had me feeling more than I have my entire life. I need some fanart right now to calm me down 😮‍💨

Manny

I said most of my analytical thoughts in the previous episode, so I’ll try to be a little more cut and dry this time. By the way… you mentioned their name, but I wonder if your batch manager for this show cackles as much when they’re planning the cuts as I did on your RvB reactions… 😁 Anyway, it seems when King Crimson is activated, it affects everyone - that’s how Narancia ate the chocolates, Fugo drank the water, and the cats got ahold of a fish without anyone noticing. I’m really having a hard time following what’s going on exactly with the Stand and the space time animation, but I’ll just use my previous example of looking at a plane flight and use the duration of the flight as what’s going on in between point A and point B in the space. Even though the limit is a few seconds. Bruno got massively injured and then… had an out of body experience? Then his soul was back in his body, but he feels no blood or pain, and even Giorno is noticing he’s not bleeding or feeling pain… do we have a Sixth Sense situation on our hands here? That’s the only logical explanation I can think of but then… it’s JoJo. His Stand’s effects DID momentarily disappear during the “soul” scene… The boss seems to be super paranoid about his identity, so when Trish finally wakes up, could we maybe… recruit her? Now that we know he’s trying to kill her, she might get more motivated.. . As far as the ending goes, it’s pretty simple… every one of them is scared to death (except Giorno), but they also know Bruno took them in when nobody else would. So they have to decide if they’re loyal to the organization, or to him. It’s kind of poetic how Abbachio is the first one to go despite being the biggest tsundere up to this point. Mista is Mista, and Narancia had to overcome his fear… he’s scared, but he’s more scared of not going with his friends. Fugo isn’t wrong - just because the thing is right to do doesn’t make it easy or more possible. In fact, there’s a lot of anime where that’s the main subject. However, he’s paralyzed with his own set of fear and is torn between his loyalty to the organization and the loyalty to Bruno. You think he’s coming around… but what if he’s the one the rest of the mafia uses as the lone remaining member to track down the traitors, and we have a real face off going on instead? I’m not saying it’d be pretty, but drama wise it’d be pretty juicy, wouldn’t it? Also before I go… Bruno’s situation might sound pretty crazy but… this is not the first time we would’ve had a ghost on our side… 👀👀👀 PS: It appears the next video in the Crunchyroll queue might be another clip show, please check ahead with the appropriate party on whether to watch it or not. :) Also: Go get some Italian food, after that filming session, it sounds like you need to actually go for more sauce, not less. ;)

I've talked enough about sad things, now there's some good news. yesterday was our dear Mista's 40st birthday, it's really funny that his birthday is actually on the third of December, just before four. I would have really celebrated it if Araki had set his birthday on April 4th. For this occasion I picked out some nice fanart:) https://www.instagram.com/p/C0ZerR8o7t5/?next=%2F&img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/C0Y-11yPJ_x/?next=%2F&img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/C0WubKWPArK/?next=%2F&img_index=3 https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d7/ee/10/d7ee1038f0bd59b90bdec17d42443731.jpg I've always questioned this part. Like, in the context of king crimson ability, all the other moments make sense, narancia eats the chocolate, giorno gives fugo the water bottle, but then there's this one, where giorno just let's this kittens walk over him. 🥲😂😂 I would have LOVED it if this picture was canon. https://www.instagram.com/p/B8bamiVoMRq/ I thought of you a lot when I saw those videos:) https://www.instagram.com/p/C0NSqU0rZXw/ https://www.instagram.com/p/C0CI6QxIqHN/ Bruno=Best mom https://www.instagram.com/p/B_-RfUrlxbQ/?img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CAfyTWdFu-Y/img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CI6RGIFlj19/?img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CHbV4XKloSv/?img_index=1 I really wish with all my heart that this comic was canon! https://www.instagram.com/p/CHdo56vn5gg/?img_index=1

I apologize in advance that the comment is very long. A lot is revealed in this episode, not only was King Crimson's ability better explained but we also saw that Bruno isn't completely dead. Without giving much in advance, Bruno really died. we saw his soul flying over Giorno and it was about to go to heaven. Small note: from part five onwards there will no longer be any indication of who has died. As you have already seen in this episode, we will rather see the souls of the deceased and then it should be clear to us that this person has left us. this episode really splits the gang in two. This episode represents a shift in the thinking of our protagonists. Apart from Giorno and Bruno, nobody knew that the two of them actually wanted to overthrow the boss from the start and I can imagine how shocking it must be for someone like a Narancia or Leone when you hear that your next mission is actually a suicide mission. A little fun fact is that Mista probably wanted to be on the boat from the start but just didn't want to be the fourth person because it was supposed to bring bad luck. That's why he waited until Leone got on the boat and only then joined. I was actually on the Fugos side from the start. He's right when he says that the six alone can't do anything against the boss's assistants. Firstly, they don't know how many assistants the boss has and what stands they have. In addition, many viewers forget that except for Bruno and Leone, all members are teenagers and as a teenager you still have your entire life ahead of you and of course you don't want to lose your life because of a person you have barely known for two days. It is precisely because of this rational thinking that Fugo is always viewed very negatively in the community, which I don't think is right. I'm very happy to hear that you want to understand his motivations and can empathize with him. you always had the hope that Fugo might come back at some point. What I'm about to say about it might be considered a spoiler for some, but since it had no relevance to the canon story, I'll mention it. I think I mentioned this before in our conversations. Fugo won't come back, that's a fact. the reason why Araki wrote Fugo out of the story is that he originally planned for Fugo to betray Giorno and the others, in his own words: like Judas betrayed Jesus. He planned for Fugo to be a traitor in Bucciarati's team, following orders from The Boss. But Araki was going through some depression at the time and felt like it was too much and decided to make him leave the group pacifically instead.According to one source, the reason for Araki's depression was that a good friend of his betrayed him. We don't know exactly what happened, but his real life situation then fit exactly to the situation that he had planned to write in part five and that's why he couldn't implement it. He said:"My state of mind was so dark that the stories I wrote were becoming more and more evil, but in my heart I was starting to hate this behavior as time passed. Also my heart just broke thinking about how Bucciarati would feel. I absolutely can't understand betrayal from a trusted friend and this is why just thinking about it physically hurt me. I would have accepted any criticism saying that I 'hadn't had the guts to do it' an author, but I assure you I couldn't write that episode no matter what. Maybe Giorno would have had to kill Fugo then and I'm sure this would have given a really bad impression to my youngest readers". Another reason why he decided to take fugo out of the story is that his stand, Purple Haze, is way too overpowered and it's hard to write good fights for his stand. I personally think it's a shame because Purple Haze is one of my favorite stands and I would have liked to see more of him. It's truly a shame that we saw so little about Fugo in the Part, but that's how things are. But you can read the light novel Purple Haze Feedback. There you can learn more about Fugo's story and what happens to him after the end of Part 5. Unfortunately, the light novel is not 100% canon, since it was not written by Araki himself. But he drew the illustration for the story and also contributed ideas to the plot. I highly recommend the light novel to any Jojo fan. This time I'm making a separate comment for the fanarts because otherwise the comment would be to long.

Hi Hime :) Bruno has his parents divorced, separated like the two part of something held by a zipper, Bruno was in a way this zipper. Bruno has a great desire to know the truth, that's why he waited in his father's room and joined the organization, to "unzip the truth". In the intro, you see Bruno walking away from the light, like joining the gang, but also in a sense, dying and coming back to life like in this episode. For the power of King Crimson, once again, it's really linked to the personality of the boss, he wants to remove all traces of his past, and KC does it. Basically, he erases from memory the few seconds experienced when he uses his power. But the fact that you edit your videos helped you a lot on this one, because you understood its power quite well. This is the ultimate power to protect yourself, especially with the ability to see a few seconds in advance which is another ability of KC. As for what happened to Bruno, it has to do with the power of Gold Experience. Just remember what the first ability is shown by Giorno and Gold Experience. The next intro, just for your information in advance and since you are starting to know the show, has several versions, more precisely 3 this time. But once again, there is a lot to extract from this one when you know the series, even certain elements that you have seen in the series so far will be shown or suggested in it (so you will be able to identify them). Also, you already suspect that Trish has a stand, the next intro will spoil its appearance for you, it's a shame about that, but the intro is too good for you to skip it I think.

Spadeas

I absolutely understand Fugo’s fear here. We’ve seen firsthand how Ruthless and brutal the organization can be, and now that or boys have turned traitor that ruthlessness is gonna be directed straight at them.
