"Sunset has some kind of terrible nightmare one night, something like the Matrix, but without a single human being free and with everything being as terrible as possible (I'll leave it vague for you to decide how much you're willing to go on that side), in her dream the machines caught her when she arrived in this universe, but after a lot of terror and torture the machines finish what they were doing with a dramatic blow, like inserting a cable into her brain with an abrupt blow, she wakes up from her nightmare... or was she put back in the simulation? I don't read much horror and being something short that's what I thought."

Twilight would argue otherwise of course, but it's the ghost's perspective and opinion that matters in a vengeful haunting. Twilight must find a way to lay Nightmare to rest before it's too late, and without doing something she'll regret."

Twilight then suddenly notices small irregularities with her friends. The story ends without a reveal if her friends were replaced or not."
