New Triple Tax Perks! Covers and Game Night

Feliz!

ICYMI, there has been some perks added to your Patreon tier:

COVER NIGHT

I've been taking many cover requests while streaming recently and sometimes you guys request songs that I'm not familiar with. Other times I'll know the song but the chords online suck and I struggle through it. Fear not! For now we have COVER NIGHT.

Simply comment songs below that you would like to request. I will learn them and perform on an exclusive Triple Tax stream once a month.

BUT WAIT THAT'S NOT ALL. Triple Taxers will have a chance to vote on a cover they would like to hear me properly record, produce and release as a single for Triple Taxers.

GAME NIGHT

People have been requesting this one for a while! Reaching out to the gang to see if we can make the first weekend in February work.

All right, let's hear those cover requests!

Still dealer's choice, but I wanna push for If It's True. Those lyrics have a strong message of hope that I could use right now.

Thaddeus Carpenter

Another one probably for the whole band as the horns would be fun, has tie-in potential: Cat Stevens - Another Saturday Night.

Dan Pawlak

Dealer's choice between Hadestown's Wait for Me or If It's True. I can't decide between them.

Thaddeus Carpenter

Overkill by Colin Hay / Men at Work. Spooky, great vocal potential. Good sax opportunity, but solo acoustic guitar is nice too.

Dan Pawlak

"Always look on the bright side of life" Monty Python Ok, now I'll stop suggesting for a bit.

Tink

Thanks for offering this up Big Nick. Super cool and very exciting. I think your guitar skills and vocal range could do an excellent cover of 'Mind Games' by John Lennon.

Jose Lechuga

If you could save yourself (you'd save us all) Ween https://youtu.be/XRc8GI3MX_Q?si=rUbfqKK_EQHsoDnt

Tink

Fearless endorsed!

Tink

Oh! Maybe the Rolling Stones - Paint it, Black

Lissa Cereal

Repeating from the chat, but Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence

Lissa Cereal

Second choice is any song from their Butter Miracle Suite EP

Mira Margolis

Any Counting Crows song, but top choice is Cover Up The Sun (from their 2014 album Somewhere Under Wonderland) (all of you should go listen to thatβ€”if you love Ends you will love SUW)

Mira Margolis

Ain't no way in hell there are other Divine Comedy fans in here so I'll sweeten the deal, if you can hit the high note towards the end of Bad Ambassador I will up my pledge to Generational Wealth Tax I found this guitar bullshit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixbQmrQ-4Xc

Rachel

Oh, if this is where I should comment, this is going to make me sound obsessed with John Prine cause I've mentioned it so many times πŸ˜… But "Please Don't Bury Me" or any John Prine song, it would make me so happy

Spookub

this is my vote

real suggestion: Fred Rogers - It's You I Like chords: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/fred-rogers/its-you-i-like-chords-1080509 music pdf: https://web.archive.org/web/20100309003029/http://www-tc.pbskids.org/rogers/songs/pdf/youilike.pdf

Jay Tholen

This song is not super complex or weird btw. Just some arpeggios and excellent singing

Dillon O'Brien

I asked for that on stream last week! Great choice

Dillon O'Brien

This one will take a bit of doing, but it’s one that many Lutskordians have secretly voted wanting to hear: MCR’s β€œWelcome to the Black Parade” but its about Boat Parade.

Dan Pawlak

heart react is not an endorsement

Nicholas Lutsko

I'm Afraid of Americans by David Bowie

Clayton Spinney

The Best Of Me - The Starting Line

Phelps

Fearless by Pink Floyd

David Cain

Quick clarification! I will try to fit a couple in per stream, but obscure deep cuts will have lower priority than songs with wider appeal. I’ll also take into consideration the number of heart reacts a song receives

Nicholas Lutsko

ok guys which 24 minute prog tune are we making Nick cover

Jay Tholen

When Will You Die by They Might Be Giants

Robert Lavery

I left in the triple tax chat already, but in case that was the wrong spot: Elysian Woes by Opeth. They are an eclectic prog band that has spent time being countless different things across the years, but this one song I believe is a great match for you. Direct, sincere, and an emotional gut punch that depends on skillfully emotive and dynamic delivery
