A few stitches more

The torso is the section with the largest circumference on this whole project, which means progress here is slow and not very interesting.

She's going to have a cartoon mouse physique:  Big head, little body.  The body will get slightly larger after I stuff it, as I said before; however it will still be pretty small.  Yes, there will be boobs.  How could you think I would build a mousebabe and not give her boobs?  To look right, they must be built onto the torso after it is stuffed.  That red band will have a crucial part to play when the time comes.  You'll see.  I have plans.

The arms are little stubs right now, just long enough to get well away from the torso so I can finish them later.  If I left the armholes flush, it would be nearly impossible to start them once the torso was stuffed, but if I built the arms completely right now, they'd be in the way during the remaining construction - so I'll wait and build them last.  That sprig of green yarn is a place marker to help me count rows.  It will be removed when I no longer need it.

yeah, as i said, i never did this and you have far more experience.

The reason I didn't do it is because I tried that exact idea on early prototypes and it turned out badly. Doesn't look good. What you're seeing here is not my first attempt at making a furry girl.

i though adding a few stitches in the middle and then reducing the number of stitches above and below might be used to form a natural valley to exploit with the stuffing by creating a "wave" on purpose where the "inlet" would end up being. But i am talking by abstraction, never having done this. There is probably a good reason why you did not even try it. First thing that comes to mind is that it would basically be creating a rip-prone fault in the resulting cloth.
