It’s no wonder why only one side is threatening nukes; it needs to. Russia is always behind and it’ll be even more so now that it has to rely on China, which is already in a world of hurt. To suggest that ending Russia’s gas trade with Europe, among other things, didn’t hurt them, seems a little ridiculous. And yeah I love the devils advocate element to this pod but sometimes it goes too far.

2022-07-06 14:18:11 +0000 UTCSanctions are pretty rough for Russia actually, but most importantly it really fucks up their military industrial complex. They’re losing access to superconductors and all sorts of important technology such as thermal sights which they have trouble making for themselves. The previous sanctions post 2014 tell a story. The Russians were meant to have their new t-14 tank mass produced and used en-mass by now, and yet they have 14 or so. Their new air superiority fighter SU-57 has barely been made. They are turning up to battle in Ukraine using rust buckets from the 70’s with no modern sighting equipment, and limited capacity to make new cruise missiles and other hardware. In reality the sanctions have already really smashed them good. The fact their own propaganda is showing life is all fine there doesn’t really mean much when we all thought they had some kind of military somewhat comparable to the USA and then it turns up being a ramshackle mess with tanks using egg cartons instead of ERA, running out of fuel, and arming DPR cannon fodder with WW2 rifles. Always confused by this pods ability to discern the highly complex propaganda of the “west” and then seemingly eating up anything from China or Russia lol
