Rich Kid Vs Poor Kid (Up Late)

Rich Kid Vs Poor Kid (Up Late)

Oi fellas, a bit off topic, but you've gotta watch Michael Cusack's new show, Smiling Friends. It's kino

Mate, 180k is pretty good, 'grats. It's about double what me and my mrs are getting, and I'm 25, so I'm in that zillenial window. It sucks, but most zoomers barely have a stable income at all. It's a shitty situation, and it's fucked that you have to be in the top 0.01% to own a house - some gen X-ers at work were talking about how they used to live in a 3-bedroom sharehouse where the total rent was $150 a week (so $50 each), and their centrelink/austudy was more than that, so they were actually making money just by studying at uni. I have hope housing prices will drop, if not now then in the next few years when boomers start to, err... do the opposite of population boom (I was really hoping Covid would be the great equalizer... maybe next time)... I honestly think it will fall in place, it takes a lot of effort to keep classes divided. Maybe it won't be any good for us, maybe not for our kids, but maybe for their kids. At least you seem to have your head screwed on, your kids will probably have a decent future because you respect education. You have no idea how much a parent's attitude towards education can improve someone's quality of life. For now, lettuce look forward to either the restoration of society or complete economic collapse.

I very recently left my job as a salesman for surf life saving. I was one of the annoying people that try’s to sign people up for some shit on the side of the road or in a shopping centre. Can confirm that in poorer areas people were far nicer in general and richer areas like rose bay people were a lot more hostile. However theres always 2 sides to it, in rose bay one time a guy pulled up in a Lamborghini and handed me $200, i told him we couldn’t take cash he said you do now and walked away. Once in Birrong this guy told me he’d just gotten out of prison where he got a taste for tall whites and liked to watch their heads get smashed on the floor. Surprisingly the best place to work was manly vale, everyone around there was always really nice.

My partner & I are both gen Z and bring home $180000k + combined. We don’t want kids for 10 years because we can’t even fucking afford a house now. We relocated from Sydney as the rents and house prices were becoming too much. The thing is also, to go anywhere in a career you need post grad. We both have masters to add another 50K+ in HECS each to look forward to before our late 20s. We are lucky & worked hard to have high incomes and we are just able to save and have a comfortable standard of living. We both know if we have a kid they are not going to have near the comfort we had with middle class parents 10 years ago, neither of us are from posh families either. We’re not inheriting anything and not going to lie it gives me insane anxiety that we will never get into a home anything close to what I had as a kid. Not to mention childcare is literally more expensive than private school. (Peter Dutton knows this, hence why he owns like 10 of them.) Gen Z is scared because they know that their standards of living are not going to be the same as they had growing up. The only people who are having kids around our age are dumb cunts from Gosford I went to school with. And they are living in 1 bedroom places with 2 kids. It’s scary and the generations coming are going to have massive class divides. My old boss was Gen X and he was always saying “have the kids it just makes the rest fall in place.” But he was also able to buy a house on the north shore for 500k and not pay for uni debt. Like, man it costs me $90 to see a GP who actually is able to do their job at this point. I don’t think it’ll fall in place.

Ali shut up about Peter Zeihan for god sake

Wagon Lord

i would recommend watching “boomer economics “ by the royal institute. Basically, boomers are one of the most pampered and entitled generation

Burcey B

Oh yay more fucking movie reviews Just another hipster pod now

Sean

Jordan you’re talking out your fucken ass about gen z you boomer simp

Leo Roboto

Why is Peter Zeihan a hack fraud?

Dean

Do you guys know much about Anacta Strategies, Neil Breen (Brisbane's budget Ben Fordham) keep talking about their ties to Qld Labor like it's Watergate. Like most political attacks from Nine Fairfax, I think they are starting to sow the seeds now on radio before it goes mainstream.

Tom Boons

As a fellow gen X, I refuse to allow him in our club

Megan Elphinstone

And 130 for one kid, like maybe if it's for Private school which is an option to not have, also not have new cars, etc etc, it's not like the kids cost $400 a week when they are born, you just buy smart.

Alex Isaac

850 a week rent!? Sydney is messed up but old mate must earn enough to live if that's the minimum amount spent.

Alex Isaac

It was great meeting Mis and Jordan after the Saturday Wollongong show, forgot to tell Jimmies how much his self help has improved many aspects of my life, from the ginger who got you to sign the "be a man" shirt, eternal thanks.

Zac Kennedy

Boomers were a double generation, over 30 years. Gen Y's kids are Generation Alpha.

George

Scomo was Gen X. Big RIP.

George
